Can somebody tell me some info about pinealectomy procedure? My wife is 5 months pregnant now and though she never had no health problems ever before it happened she had 2 epileptic attacks in the last 2 months –meaning this condition occurred in pregnancy-could those two conditions be related? The thing is that I know I have red something about some pinealectomy procedure but I can't remember now what that was all about I just now that this may help with epilepsy in pregnancy, and though my wife started taking some epilepsy meds we are still actually afraid that this condition could hurt our unborn baby so what do you think-would this pinealectomy procedure help.
I am afraid I can't be of much help here but I think this pinealectomy procedure is still experimental in fact and I think it is only been performed on rats so far. Anyway I think that those experiments are based on pinealectomizing rat's females that are put under experimental epilepsy while pregnant just in order to see what the possible consequences are that is what changes on the brain of unborn rats are. Anyway this pinealectomy procedure is not something you could count on now so I advice your wife keeps taking those epilepsy meds just the way she was prescribed for that is the only way for now to avoid possible congenital malformations of the baby.
