Hi there. I started having the same pin pricks all over my body in middle school. It seemed to be triggered by exercise or heat usually, or at least it made it worse. It lasted through high school and college. It was horrible, but cool fresh air or something cold on me helped. I went to the doctor and a dermatologist with no luck, then I went to the chiropractor around the age of 24. A few days later it started happening less and less until it stopped completely, outside of the very rare occurrence. I'm 41 now and it just started happening again with gusto. The thing that I believe triggered it was when I tried to pick up my 30 lb 2 year old daughter at a weird angle and pulled something in my back. I was on the ground in pain for a few minutes, and it hurt for almost two weeks. Anyway, here's my theory. The pin pricks are a spinal cord thing, at least for me. It started in middle school, when I started playing organized sports (football and track - hurdles). My lower back used to always hurt from running hurdles. And it stopped after I went to the chiropractor and got my back cracked and spinal cord aligned. Now it started up again when I hurt my back a couple weeks ago. It's hard for me to think that this is all a coincidence. I'm going to schedule a chiropractor appointment this week and I'll let you all know what happens.

Mine was caused by an allergy to Almonds.
I've been drinking almond milk as substitution from cows milk and soy milk and then I started getting the pins and needles from my waste up. Stopped the almond milk and the pins and needles are gone !

I'll only say this once. It is most definitely a deficiency of your b complex vitamins. I had this for years when in the shower. It slowly went away over time. Recently it came back and it was when I wasn't eating properly. I started on my vitamins again and its gone. Start taking a hefty adult vitamin that has ALL RDA's and may even go a little above. If you are a teenager on here, start following immediately. Nutrition is of vital importance. You can't neglect the body in this regard, otherwise things happen. B12 deficiency for example, can cause irreversible brain issues! Get on it people. Stop diagnosing yourselves. Go have some blood work done.

I think it has to do with the nervous system in general and the lack of proper nutrition. Same as you, went away, came back 2 weeks ago. I however began a better vitamin regimen again and its now disappeared again. Our bodies need nutrition.

Hi everyone and thank you for your posts.
I have very similar issues. I still have to see a doctor about it. I honestly prefer not to because his going to send me to some specialists and I prefer try to find remedies without The runaround if I can.
I find that after a shower I need to dry myself and wear clothes very quickly. I need avoid fast temperature changes ( hot to cold ). So I wrap myself in a blanket and wait till it goes away ( about 20 minutes ).
After reading about everyone’s comments here I believe I may have a pinched nerve or something to do with spinal posture.I also will make some inquiries with a chiropractor.
Hope this helps :)
