Hi the best thing you can do is sit in a cool bath and try to wash it off.
You should never put tea tree oil on a sensitive part of your body like that.

Just finished an article which used hydrogen peroxide the same way and equally effective.
Hydrogen peroxide can cause very serious burns to the skin if it is not diluted properly though so it's something that needs great care taken when being used!
I just applied tea tree oil and it made me itch even worst!!! I guess it works for some people and not others. I will be getting Monistat tomorrow!
I know this is an old topic, but I hope it helps someone else.
^^^^ I could have written this post. Exactly. I discovered I became allergic to Monistat and it made an already uncomfortable yeast infection far, FAR worse. Intense burning, extreme inflammation. My dr had to manually remove it from inside me and I also had to do daily sitz baths. I was so swollen and raw that she recommended using NOTHING on myself accept for plain water. Adding tea tree oil, etc will only irritate further. She also recommended trying Benadryl to help counteract the reaction to the Monistat. She said that it's not uncommon for Monistat to cause this type of reaction and to never use it again. If you aren't showing improvement after about 3 days and your symptoms are getting worse, stop using Monistat (no matter if it's the 1, 3 or 7 day type) and call your doctor. Also, a side effect of using Monistat is that it can cause your discharge to range anywhere from yellow to orange to brown. It can even cause light bleeding/spotting. It says so right on the box. I've always had colored discharge when I've used it. So don't freak out and automatically assume you have an STD as a few previous posters suggested. Just go to the doctor.

I too tried tea tree oil (for clitoral and external labia itch). It burned like crazy -- yes think tears, prayers, ice cold water rinsing, warm water rinsing, washing the area with vanicream bar (non-soap) and lots of rinsing)...ALL of this and it was FIRE.
Thankfully I remembered I had plain Greek yogurt in the fridge. Painfully got downstairs, put some in a container, immediately put some on the V, back upstairs, towel on the bed, spread eagle and LOTS OF COLD GREEK YOGURT. I kept my legs open with the yogurt on for about 20 minutes or so...slowly started feeling some relief. The FIRE turned to a very slight 'fiery' tingle and eventually went away.
Please be reminded that every person and their reaction to product can be different. I suspect something in the dairy yogurt had a neutralizing effect on the burning (in addition to the coldness being soothing), while the probiotics helped deal with the 'original' problem of the itch.
Here's to happy healthy vaginas!

Any natural unsweetened yoghurt or probiotic yogurt are a good way to try and self treat yeast infections both internal and external because the natural bacteria in them helps you build yours up to fight the infection and also helps to bring the ph level back to normal again.
Thank you so much for the advice! I sound like your twin. Going to try the Tea tree!
But I also must slip in here to mention that for some people tea tree oil can be WAY too strong. My husband tried it to treat a skin rash and it got worse. So always smart to test on an area of your body not as sensitive as the vaginal area! Good luck! Hope it works!
I have tried everything and been to the doctors a million times but not tried this so really appreciate your detailed explanation and hope it works!!! Thanks
Was it burning you when you would urinate?
i am only 14 years old and i am having almost the same problem except i never had sex. So last Thursday i thought i was off my period so i didn't wear a tampon to school but when i got to school i noticed a very small amount of blood so since i absolutely hate pads i used some toilet paper to make sure i didn't get blood on my panties, but after that i noticed my vagina was a little sore and i didn't think much of it so i just went on but on Saturday my vagina was swollen and was burning a lot so i told my mom and she said it was probably nothing so i went on with my life but on sunday it was so itchy and burning its now Wednesday and i just noticed i have a white yellowish discharge and it hurts so bad i can barely even move my mom said it was just a yeast infection but i told her how bad it hurts and how i can barely walk without pain my vagina is verrrryyyy swollen and red and itchy, i guess i itched it to much and now its bleeding on the sides. It doesnt really burn when i pee but whenever i go to take my underwear off it hurts so bad to the point were im crying and my mom doesnt believe me when i say how bad it hurts and now shes starting to think i had sex when i never ever did no one has ever touched me there besides me. I dont know what to do even the slightest touch makes me want to fall on the floor crying. My mom gave me some monistat itch cream but its freaking expired and she said she was going to get me the monistat 3 day kit thing but i dont know if its a yeast infection or something worse. Please help me this is my first time ever getting one of these and i used to be petrafied of going to the lady doctor but now i dont care ill do anything to make it stop hurting i can take the itch just not the burn. I went to my school nurse about it because i dont know what to do. Theres no smell to it , i take showers everyday i always keep down there super clean so i dont understand how this happened. I dont eat bread i do wear tight pants (jeans, leggings, etc). I dont know what to do please help me.
I'm 14 years old as well and I'm pretty sure I have a yeast infection too. Mine has gotten really bad and I honestly am afraid to pee because it hurts so bad. I also experience the burning sensation daily.
One thing that has helped me is lotrimin. It's an antifungal cream that's for jock itch but you can use it for yeast infections too. My doctor also suggested than I put Vaseline (which is petrolium jelly) on it as well. I have not tried the Vaseline but I have tried the lotrimin and it helps a bit.
And on the peeing issue: does anyone know how to pee without pain? I have tried with water in the shower but it hurt. A lot.

I just wanted to say that I have used the technique of putting tea tree oil around my vagina to get rid of the itching and irritation which does work; however, the relief is always temporary. The itching would always come back after a day or two so i just got zinc oxide and another medication my obgyn prescribed me to try out. Hopefully its a more permanent treatment. I am also taking probiotics and garlic supplements as well.
Ditch your panties, fresh air, sunshine, getting rid of warm, dark yeast farming places ... this should cure your yeast ... as for the panties, stop wearing them PERMANENTLY & COMPLETELY ... you won't be sorry & will save a lot on your budget if you forget about anything tight below your waist ... panty-free forver!
