for the past two weeks, I've been spotting once in the morning, then nothing all day, sometimes going a day or two without anything, then it repeats itself. I'm 40. I figured its perimenipause, but bought a pregnancy test anyways. Took the test first thing in the morning, got a positive, then 15 minutes later in the shower, I had red blood flowing as if my period had started....then of course it stopped again. It is possible to get a false positive with home pregnancy tests? Is it normal for some women to have periods or spotting once the embryo has implanted? Really confused right now.
You said you have been spotting. Have you been having your regular periods though? 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. That is one reason why they advise you not to test for pregnancy until your period is late, because it distresses some women to know they lost a baby. It is possible that you happened to miscarry, and that is why you started to bleed. However, I am not sure because you did not mention if you're having a regular cycle.. If the discharge continues, I would go see a doctor
