Please keep me updated on this! I experienced the same thing except I wasn't as far along and what I think was the zygote/fetus wasn't as big. When I went to the hospital they said the blood tests didn't show enough hcG to confirm a pregnancy was lost. None of the medical personnel took me seriously and I believe something needs to be done. If only we could find some lawyers to take on our case!

exactly. my midwife did not tell me that it worked by preventing implantation. I could not stand to think that I chose a device that would kill a growing human being inside of me! I had mine removed. My periods are normal now and I haven't had any symptoms similar to that of pregnancy since. My husband opted for a vasectomy.

I agree with you. The doctors don't take us seriously--either because they think the benefits of the device outweigh the risk or because they are ignorant and don't know how many women are experiencing miscarriages! Either way, we need a law firm to pick up on this issue and defend us against false advertising and medical malpractice (they are not disclosing the truth about this device)!

Oh my gosh. my story is the same as yours. My sister also got pregnant with the mirena and is experiencing a health baby boy this march. I just found out I am pregnant and had my IUD removed a week ago. I am going through agony right now because am too early for them to run any tests and my HCG number is not climbing fast enough. I had been spotting for weeks and called my doctor who said it was normal but took matters into my own hands and took a home test which turned out positive. I then had the IUD removed immediately but am not getting my support from my doctors who told me basically to expect a miscarriage because my pregnancy is not viable. We already have two lovely little girls but would welcome a third child so my emotions are all over the place. I just have faith that God knows what he is doing. Just find it weird that we both have sisters in the same situation.

I am NEVER getting an IUD again and want to tell everyone I can not to use one. What it can put you through is not worth it!

I have had an IUD for three years after my first baby and took the IUD out immediately got pregnant afterward. The gynecologist said that one is highly likely to get pregnant within 2 months of taking the IUD out. I have my third Mirena in now as it has been 7 years since my last pregnancy. I have had occasional heavy menstrual flows. Regarding the "killing babies" thing. Um... yeah all forms of birth control kill the potential fetus or egg. Condoms are the only option if they do not have an accidental oopsie that would be a barrier to keep from an egg getting fertilized. Every month when you have your period you are shedding "potential babies".

So I have had my copper IUD for 2 years now and everything has been going the way it should, until about 2 months ago now. I have been bleeding , clotting, and cramping for 40 days now and my Dr sucks an won't call me back. Was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them? I feel very tired all the time, and cravings up the wazoo for sweets, and I feel "butterflies" i n my stomach, any suggestions?

She's asking if an egg could have been fertilized then never implanted. For a pregnancy test to turn up positive an egg needs to implant and start giving off hormones to turn it positive.

Did you ever find out if you're pregnant?

Wow! I had no idea that Mirena could allow pregnancy then just reject the fetus! I think I just had a miscarriage from getting pregnant with an IUD and thought I was a rare case. Now I'm worried it could happen again and again based on all of these stories I've just read and wonder if I should go back to the pill. I do want to have kids some day and I worry Mirena might destroy my poor uterus before that ever happens. Thank you all for sharing, you've given me a lot to think about.
