Here it is...
26 year old male
6' and 235 lbs (Military)
I have pain approximately 2 inches below the left nipple and pain which comes and goes in my left arm around the elbow and occasionally into left calf. I have a constant feeling of wanting to "pop" my back around the left scapula region. When I do this I here a popping sound and when I try to "pop" the right side it won't go. The pain in my chest is generally sharp and last for a second or two and then goes away and the same can be said for the pain in my arm. This has been going on for a year and a half now with relatively no answers other than "it's not your heart". here is a list of the procedures done--
~ 20 EKG/ECG (nothing noted other than slight T-wave inversion on lead III in every one)
- Resting Heart Ultrasound (Docs said my heart should be used as a model one day)
- Blood-work for clots (nothing - picture of health)
- Treadmill Cardio Stress Test (Went to 98% completion - 198 bpm - Cardiologist said Definitely not your heart)
- Too many chest X-rays to count (All clear and no out of place ribs)
- Live scan upper G.I. (I have GERD - yippee - nothing found and all clear)
- Multiple Physical therapy appointments (Therapist says i have some mild bursitis in my left shoulder)
- Vitamin D and B tests (ordered by Ortho - Ortho prescribed Lyrica to help with nerve pain - To me that sounds like putting a band aid on the problem instead of finding the cure, kind of like shooting your messed up knee with cortizone instead of fixing your torn miniscus)
- Been to chiropractor and he immediately said I have a rib out place and began manipulation. Military wont pay for chiropractic work even though it could work. kind of expensive for a servicemember to pull out of pocket for on the regular.
- Acupuncturist put tiny pins in my ears and somehow it worked amazingly. I had no pain for two days but couldn't sleep for anything due to the pain in my ears from the pins still being in.
- Oh, the pain tends to go away and not be as severe when I don't work out but when I do it's like thenext day and couple days after that I hurt like nobody's business.
My doc talked to me about possible medical retirement which is not the way I want to go. I am desperate to serve my country and serve my time all the way through. I have deployed to multiple combat theaters and really really need to figure out what the hell is wrong! If anyone has some ideas I can take to the doc and tell him to try or look for or anything please respond as I would greatly greatly appreciate it. It's a bummer going through this. When I hurt, it hurts a lot, but when I don't I feel fine and can play with my 4 year old son like its going out of style. any help would be awesome. Thanks
