Pain in urination for the first two goes after the operation, the first time it was at the hospital, it was painful from the get go, almost fainted out of fear of the pain (I anticipated pain, but was scared of the amount), second time was later in the evening it was ok at start, but towards the end, my glans began to swell up even more and it hurt a bit. Now peeing is absolutely normal, I also find a have a more powerful stream than prior to my circ (its like a riot hose).
By the next day, there was no pain at all, save for the pressure I get from the nocturnal erection. Some light spotting with blood. I changed my gauze (which for some reason wasn't tightly bandaged (it fell off apparently after the operation, but I changed another one at the hospital, but again, not tightly bandaged)) and will continue to do so. I was able to walk on the second day. The glans began to expose themselves (time to see the world), but it was quite sensitive, but nothing I can't tolerate.
I also noticed that I cannot see my incision line as there's a swelled layer of skin covering it, most of my head, save for the tip is still covered by this. I pull it back very gently and I pull it back very little so that I can barely see the sides as I don't want to force the stitches to pull themselves. I can sort of see something like my incision line, but I can't make of it. Probably call the urologist on Monday, but for this weekend, just leave it for now.
By the end of that night, there was no pain, lots of boredom as I couldn't go out, so I slept. Few nocturnal erections, but nothing to worry about, just some pressure on the penis area.
On Saturday I wake up to some erections and pressure, again nothing to worry about. I even go out with my mother today (I did so yesterday for an hour, one hour or so driving and 30 minutes sitting down eating a meal and later going down to buy some more gauze swipes).
As the glans occasionally expose themselves I live the day feeling the sensitivity of the glans. While its annoying, its not too bothersome for me to feel edgy. I enjoy another quiet night, save for an evening drive to the shops. I slept this night without gauze and padding and put some boxers on, which I won't do again for a while.
This night (few hours prior to this post), I had an intense erection which woke me up, all of a sudden I felt a pop, as tho a stitch had fallen off. I ignored it after laying in the fetal position as advised and slept. I was awaken by a second erection which only had the usual pressure that I felt. I went to pee and found that there was small bleeding on my penis, which went away with one wipe, it was too small to be noticed.
I plan to return to putting gauze and padding on again for a week or two, and begin soaking my penis to clean it off.
Is it normal for whats left of the skin to cover the incision? I would like to see how my stitches are holding up, I don't even know where its placed (I have an idea from pictures and common sense, but I can't see them myself due to that skin issue.
Thanks for reading.
How old are you? You mention going somewhere with your mother so I expect you may be young. Did anyone discuss this with you to tell you exactly what was going to be done? If you are too young to have had any choice about it yourself, did your mother know, and did she tell you?
I don't see why it should be painful to urinate unless the urine is getting on some part that was cut. Urine burns like hell when it contacts a cut.
You say you have a stream like a riot hose. Did they insert a catheter or something that would have temporarily stretched your urethra? After they removed the catheter when I had bypass surgery, I had a stream like a fire hose for a while. I don't remember how long, maybe a few days or a week or so. Did you used to pull your foreskin back a bit to pee? If not you may only be seeing the difference between having an unrestricted stream and the distorted stream of peeing through the tip of your foreskin.
What was wrong that they couldn't cure it without cutting off the end? My foreskin tip is becoming white like it's getting bleached. I showed it to my nurse practitioner and she said it's normal to lose pigmentation with age sl I showed it to my doctor and he agreed with her.
As your experience shows, circumcision is never a happy experience. I wonder why the inflammation, which is called posthitis could not be treated in a more conservative fashion, perhaps with antibiotics.
If you still have a fold of skin covering the incision, you most likely did have a partial circumcision.
Well, I agree. I had so ugly time when I needed to get used to this. It is really, but really ugly experience and I can't say that I was ok. I was not OK mentally, at the first place. After the surgery, the things were going pretty rough, I also had some circumcision complications because I didn't know how to take care of my penis while he was "like this". I get that this is normal, but it was a bad experience in my case. My worse nightmare was when I needed to go to pee. I just can't describe this pain, this burning thing. Those couple of seconds were devastating for me. Now, I am ok. But I just can't say that I had nice experience after this.
The white skin at the tip indicates that you had BXO. This is one of the very rare condtions for which male circumcision is indicated.
Almost all other conditions may be treated conservatively without circumcision.
