I gave birth 8 months ago and for the past month I have been experiencing night sweats almost every night. They started when I got my period for the second time. I'm 40 and my baby was conceived naturally after 6 months of TTC. Do I have some kind of hormonal imbalance or could it be something else? I think it would be unlikely to experience menopause so close to giving birth?
My cycles were tracked every month before I got pregnant and showed consistent good ovulation.

Hi, I found your story similar to mine as when I gave birth I had the same thing happening and was pretty confused about it as I would never tell I would experience the night sweats, like women do in their menopause. I found out that this is due to a hormonal disbalance, as the level is going up and down and was the main cause for that. Then I went to see the doctor and she sent me to a specialist for thyroid gland. I discovered I had the postpartum hyperthiroiditis which symptoms are frequent sweating, the increased apetite while losing the kilograms, the heart beat etc. The night sweats were happening the most often and I could hardly live with it. My doctor gave me some medications to relieve these symptoms and I can say I felt a bit better considering the sweating. Have you ever experienced any of these symptoms when the function of the thyroid gland is increased? I think you should do the tests and see if this is the underlying cause. Wish you luck.
Pregnancy can often trigger thyriod imbalances, it is best to go get yourself checked by a doctor
