Okay.So this may seem stupid but I had my tonsillectomy on July 26th (4 days ago) and for one thing, I didn't expect the pain to gradually get worse as the days went on. My doctor didn't really tell me ANYTHING about what to do and what not to do after the surgery. Becuase I'm only 16 they put me in the children's ward at the hospital, which meant that they gave me guidlines for children to follow after the surgery. But theres a couple of things I would like to know that children don't normally have to worry about. Sex and Smoking. Are they both out of the question for some time or what!? I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!
Certainly no smoking till at least two weeks after your surgery. It will delay or even prevent healing which would be no good. :-( As far as sex goes i'm surprised you feel like having it seeing that i felt so awful till about day 8. Not sure if it is a restriction though. Just to warn you, if you are on antibiotics and birth control, some antibiotics will decrease the effectiveness of the pill so be careful! I know my bottle came with that warning. Good luck.
