When I go to sleep at night I can feel the blood pounding in head and ears, also upon rising the same thing to. I take a pain medication and thyroid medication. Would that be causing this? Ask my doctor and she never answered me? I would appreciate if you could let me know as it scars me.
I am guessing it might be temporal (cranial) arteritis, inflammation of the arteries supplying your head and neck. I suggest sleeping in an inclined position, or at least pop your head up using extra pillows. Take some aspirin prior to going to bed to reduce the inflammation. You may also want to check your blood pressure just before going to bed and upon rising to make sure it is not too high.
