Hello, there. Therapy for infective endocarditis should be aggressive. It consists of antibiotics that are given intravenously. This lasts for 2 to 4 weeks. I think that it would be best to choose antibiotic upon blood culture. Antibiogram determines best which antibiotic bacteria are sensitive to.
