I'm 27 years old and have shaved my pubic hair many times and have not had any problems. One morning i woke up and took a shower. I got out of my shower to dry myself and my pubic hair was very orange and looked like there was stuff on it. The hair was very easy to pull out and with no pain. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

It could be Trichomycosis axillaries. It is bacterial infection of the hairs in the armpits and pubic area. It is caused by bacteria called Corynebacteria. It can be asymptomatic but something that looks like yellow, black or red concretions could stick to the hair shaft. It would be best if you shaved that area and that used erythromycin cream to get rid of the infection. You should keep the area clean, wash it with soap and water.
If the problem persists, you may see a dermatologist and have it checked.

Hello all.

If your pubic hair has turned orange, there can be a few possible explanations for this change in color. It's important to note that without further information or a medical examination, it's difficult to provide a definitive answer. However, here are a few potential causes:

  1. Hair dye or color transfer: If you have recently used hair dye on your head, there is a chance that some of the dye may have accidentally transferred to your pubic hair during application or while washing your hair. This could result in a temporary change in color.

  2. Chemical reaction: Exposure to certain chemicals or substances, such as certain shampoos, conditioners, or even fabrics (such as dyed underwear), could potentially cause a reaction with your pubic hair, resulting in a change in color. It's important to consider any recent changes in products you've used in that area.

  3. Medication or supplements: In some cases, certain medications or supplements can cause changes in hair color. However, this is relatively rare, and it would be best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine if any medications or supplements you are taking could be related to the change.

  4. Medical conditions: Although less common, certain medical conditions can cause changes in hair color. For example, a condition called "Acanthosis nigricans" can cause areas of darkened, thickened skin, which may extend to the pubic area.
