I sometimes get these pusating feelings, i'm not sure where they come from, they come from inside my head, notshure where though. It feels like I'm radiating energy (not shure witch kind, but it feels slightly electical) and it always escapes though my tounge and out of my mouth. Like the energy comes from inside my head and travles along my tounge to the tip, then gets' realised. These pulsations happened from time to time, randomly. a the most for a few miuntes.

I have this and two things aggrevate it really bad:

1. Not sleeping enough the night before
2. Stressed, whether concious or subconcious

Drs found nothing wrong, but I went to a Chinese Herbal Dr and his he said that because of my sustained stress over the years, my nervous system has become hyper-sensitive. He said it is picking up changes in the body that it should not. I agree with him because I noticed even a thought sometimes triggers a pressure-head or pulse. These over-reactions are due to years of feeling of stress, especially feeling unappreciated, taken advantage of, feeling of not being more successful, etc... This is why no test will ever find it.
He said that our person stress evolution changes out nerves to extra sensitive nerves. They just didn't shift back to regular gear and stayed in high. As long as we remain in a stressful environment, the brain sees no reason to shut these off. Like a case of post-traumatic stress. Recover will require dietary changes, more sleep, stop the fast-pace life (tweets, facebook, etc), bad relationships, financial problem and more smaller accomplishments. Bring your goals down to smaller do-able tasks. Learn to drop projects that are too demanding and re-evaluate your decision making process of when you say Yes and No. Good luck.

I have had similar symptoms for a few months now. For a while I would have tunnel vision with the episodes and seriously thought it was due to the LSD I had taken only a few weeks before (I do believe LSD has side effects). I have since stopped taking acid and still get the "head rushes" but with out the tunnel vision. I do sometimes find them enjoyable ,but rarely do I because they occur so often and they distract me from doing work. I also had a vein behind my ear that would twitch for several times at random. It has gone away but every now and then I will have veins twitch.
P.S They are often very intense after opening my eyes from meditation or prolonged cognition.

This happens to me how ever I call them brain zaps lol... according to my doctor which i am totally unsure how accurate he is, he says they are caused by muscle spasms in the neck... which yes from time to time my neck gets tense n so on... but like i said unsure!! I am as I write this suffering from them right now and they have been going on so long to day i now feel I cannot lift my head these past two days r the worse they have ever been. I also have low thyroid and am on synthroid as of yesterday... ironic huh?

I've read through every post in this string and my symptoms are very similar, i.e. started about 4 months ago with sudden onset of unexplained dizziness followed later in the day by this weird pulse or swoosh in my head that felt like something had it in a soft vice grip and almost like I was out of it a split second with momentary dizziness.  For the next week I suffered slight dizziness from time to time but not the swoosh in my head.  Then the swoosh happened in the middle of the night.  Woke me up from a dead sleep.  Room was spinning.  Got up to take baby asprin as well - thought I was getting ready to have a stroke.  Went to the doctor and my bottom # for blood pressure was on the high side, even though I was already on BP med, so he doubled the dose.  Was fine for a while, but in the last few days have started with same symptoms again.  It'll hit me at any time, sitting, standing, sleeping, morning,  noon, night...doesn't matter.  It fatiques me and makes me feel a little "out of sorts" in general.  Usually ends in a slight, but not too terrible headache with some neck and shoulder aches as well.  Very frustrating.  Has ANYONE out there come up with a diagnoses for this type thing?  I'm thinking inner ear, allergies, BP issues, stress, diet, too much caffeine, and then there's the scary stuff you find on the internet!  But mostly, it's just real hard to explain the head feeling.  Any help in pointing me in a good direction would be appreciated.

I Just got these last night and I thought I was having a stroke.  I have had a small history with seizures, as well as a history of low blood sugar, migraines and lyme disease. When I get it I feel it in my chest first and it shoots up into my head causes dizziness, a slight warm feeling and pressure in my eyes, sinuses and nose.  I believe its from lack of sleep (deep sleep).  I am 21 and have been out late a lot recently enjoying myself, and I am finding that when i do sleep well I don't get it the next day.  but here's a few things I think it is.

Lack of Sleep
Cluster Headaches
Pinched Nerves in the neck
Lyme Disease
Heart Condition

I have the same symptoms, defiantly more active during the day and when I sit still.  When I was a kid, i used to play with strong magnets and I noticed a similar sensation when I placed a magnet on the temples of my head. I have also noticed that they seem to get stronger every 4 months or so... Currently getting stronger this week 10/2/2011.  The only outside influence that I can nail down on a cycle of 4 months is the sun.  I know this is crazy, but if you research the changes on the sun right now you can see geomagnetic activity increasing with the sunspot cycles.  The magnets need to be strong enough to pick up 5 lbs if you want to test the sensation.

I recently have experienced intense, pulsating headaches.  It started a couple weeks ago unexpectedly when I was working out.  It started out with an achy pain in the lower back part of my head.  I worked out the next few days and now felt the aches in the right side of my head and a little in the back as well.  I rested a couple days and my head felt better, but I could still feel the aches very slightly throughout the day.  I decided to work out pretty hard the other day and I felt the aches again, but it was not bad at all.  Finally today I was doing incline bench press at the weight I always do and on my eighth repetition I felt my entire head tighten up and begin to pulsate.  I stopped working out and the pulsating was really intense and actually pretty painful.  I put my hands on my head and could feel my heart beat.  This intense pulsating around my entire head lasted a couple minutes and has died down, but I can still feel the achiness a bit.  I am a bit worried, but haven't told a doctor yet.  I am a 20 year old male and I am very healthy.  I work out 4-5 times a week, but I do eat a lot of meat.  I don't want to be inactive my whole life, but I'm afraid to work out hard now because I know the intense pulsating will come back.

I saw these posts from a year ago. Just wondering if anyone found anything out? I've been experiencing the same pulsating, "whooshing" sensations since November. I've gone through a bunch of tests recently from blood work, discontinuing medication, ultrasound, I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist and just had an MRI of my brain done yesterday. I'm still waiting on results and from there I will see a neurologist. It is constant and never goes away. I can't take much more. It's affected my life significantly. I will keep checking for any resolutions and will post if I find out an answer.

I see a lot of people have been getting this with no explanation or resolution. I started getting these two days ago after taking a few extasy pills 3 days ago all sunday. Ive seen other people on this that this has happened to after taking e's aswel, so that puts my mind at ease a bit.
But i am struggling to sleep and i have felt like sh*t the last few days and had to take 2 days off work.

Ok everyone. I have been very persistent with the doctors and finally got some answers. Yes it's true! I see a lot of you have had MRI's and CT scans. I did too, only they found something. On the scans it showed a cerebral artery is not right. They call it AVM. It's a malformation where the artery and veins meet so the blood is now flowing like it should and is putting pressure on the brain which are causing migraines, it is also causing "aura" which is what the pulsating is. So for right now the neurologist put me on a certain beta-blocker(blood pressure) medication even though my blood pressure is perfect, it is to keep the pressure down in my brain. Too much pressure could cause the artery to rupture which can result in brain hemorrhage or anurism. The neurologist is sending everything to a specialist in Seattle, WA. From there they will determine whether I need to have another scan that will focus strictly on the arteries and veins and from there on whether or not surgery is needed. So for now I just have to take it easy, not to over exert myself and hope the medication helps and wait for other answers. AVM is very rare. Like 1% of the population has this. They say they don't know what causes this but it is developed before we are born. They also say it is more common in makes than females. I hope this info can be helpful to some of you. Look it up and don't rule this out. Be persistent with your doctor! I'll keep everyone posted on any new info I get.

Since a couple of years ago when this started I have learned a lot.

First of all, the blood is thinner from nsaida or asprin products, the blood pressure is going up a d most of the time its from too much salt in a few things we ate. Take the salt away, stop the meds and it makes a great deal of difference.

What you are all discribing sounds like what happens when you have neuological LYME DISEASE!!!!! Please do yourself a favor and look it up! I had all these and then some. Tests are not accurate for Lyme either so I had to have a test done 6 times before it came back postive. I ahd to take an antibiotic by I.V. 2xs a day for 18 months to feel half way better....i still get the wooozzzzziiiiieeeesssss now and then.....Hope this helps!
