I'm 12 and when ever I either take a shower or am sitting in a pool area during competitive swimming my feet turn bluish purple. I asked my doctor about it but she said she didn't know what it was from. She thought it probably had to do with my heart. I had heart problems when I was first born because I was born with a whole in my heart but it healed 3 months after I was born. She said it had nothing to do with that but that it so I got an EKG and everything was normal. Also my arms are permanately blotchy on the upper part of my arm. My doctors have no idea what it's from. If anyone knows can you please let me know?

Are your feet really cold when they turn purple?

Have they checked you for an autoimmune disease called Reynaud's? I used to work with a girl whose hands and feet would turn purple (and be ice cold). She said that when she was younger it took them a really long time to figure it out and she was in the hospital with it. I don't know how they treated it, but they were treating it.

Another woman I worked with (oddly, at the same company) had the same problem with her hands. She just made sure she wore gloves when she was grocery shopping in the freezer section.

If you check on the Mayo Clinic site, they have some good information.

Yes, they are really cold. Usually my body is super warm and my feet feel like ice. Thanks for the info.
