I used to get them too. What I did was use a Q-tip, cleaned the gross tonsil stones out of my tonsils, almost digging them out as they are tucked in the creases of the tonsils. I did do some gagging and there was a little blood. I then gargled first with salt water then a mixture of well deluded hydrogen peroxide and water. Be careful not to swallow the hydrogen peroxide. I again gargled with salt water. That seemed to get rid of them for me. I haven't had them for a long time now.

To the people posting on here about hard dwhite deposits that are coming out that sometimes smell, those are toniliths (aka tonsil stones). They're basically pus that's been entrapped by the cavities of the tonsils. Most people have them although some people get them more frequently and at a higher rate where they need to see an ENT to get them removed ( which is not painful).
To those that are writing in about frequent sore throats, and there is liquid pus, you should see an ENT and ask them what thier thinking is on a tonsillectomy. Usually they recommend this for children if they get more than 3 in 6 months and for adults more than 2 in six months.
Also, removal of infected tonsils will improve your overall health. Your body won't be constantly fighting off and reacting to entrapped germs. Bacteria like strep if left untreated can cause different reactions in different people throughout the body, such as psoriasis, ADHD, and other neurological problems, especially those of the autoimmune variety. If you continue to have horrid sore throats get them out. If not leave them be.

I can't get to the pus that's behind my tonsils. I can see a white ball of some sort behind my left tonsil. But, the left side is already swollen and I can't seem to get anything back there or strong enough water to hit it.

I don't thing it's pus that you have, it sounds like what I had. It is called tonsil a crypts. What it is is holes throughout your tonsils and food will get stuck in them as you swallow, and about once a week it may ease out a bunch, depending on how much you eat. And if you squeeze on your tonsils it will cone out and relieve swalloness and pain. I never had strep throat or any throat issues except for that which doctors said wouldbt hurt me. I'm 16 and this past you I got strep throat 3 tines in 2 months and my tonsils got bigger and bigger to the point where it cause me to get an emergency tonsil removal. Now, no more throat problems and no more nasty tonsil a crypts.

I have had severe sore throat and high temperature for afelipe. I went doctors and was told I had tonsilitis and a lot of pus. I have been put on anti biotics for past five days. I woke up today in pain, throat was uncomfortable. Looking in the mirror I noticed tonsils full off white goo so thinking I would resolve the pain I used a q tip to clear some pus out (I obviously read the wrong thing and thought that the goo was stones) any way now I'm really worried that instead of helping to fight the infection I have started a new one

I hate getting those. It feels very weird when my tounge touches it too. eww. -.- I also hate it when it stays in there for days! They are called puss pockets. They give me the chills... -.- is there any medication to get rid of them FOREVER??? >:(

i have this feeling for a few days now. it started as a pain in my throat. i thought it might be relieved when i rehydrate myself. so i drank a lot of water. i started to have fever of 38.6 and even paracetamol wont work. (well it work after a few hours but the fever comes back). it was my third day on fever and severe sore throat and even ear pain was present already when i visited my doctor. the doctor checked my mouth and she told me that i have throat exudate/throat pus. i, too, have seen in it on the mirror. and now she has given me antibiotic. i already have few dosages already but the pain is still there. still the same intensity of pain
