I have the same thing body pains chills fever sore throat and puss in the back of my throat I was told by the doctor I have influenza and I need to rest and drink plenty of fluids so not to become dehydrated so I have been drinking hot water with throat lagengers (bad speller lol) in them and have been boiling hot water in a pot with Vicks or tiger bomb to steam my nose and throat as well as gargling salt water.. OMG...go to a doctor immediately...common sense says pushing on your tonsils and pus flowing out can not be normal or good!!! You defefinetly have a bad infection...please don't let it go on another day without seeking medical treatment because no matter how much you remove the pus, the infection will keep producing more and more...I hope you get to feeling better!!! :-)

hi21hi21I'm so glad to finally have an answere. Quite a few years(like 8yrs) ago my dad had this and the doctor said it wasn't strep but he didn't know what it was. so my dad lived with it and after about a week it went away. For about a year I have been getting it to and been living with it. I now know what to do and am letting my dad know as well. It seems like something a doctor should know but oh well. Thanks to all that helped :)

I've been having similar problems for the past few days. The first day started out with a dire throat, that night body aches and fever/chills started. I noticed yesterday the back of my throat was covered in white spots. I tried wiping it off with a q tip to see if it was puss, but it didn't wipe off. I thought it was strep throat until I realized it wasn't puss. Any suggestions?

I know exactually where you are coming from I have been dealing with same issue for the past few years have been treated with all kind of drugs I get better then it comes right back I think my acid reflux has some to do with it so now I am taking the strongest medicine for my acid reflux and still have problems I am really worried about throat cancer I wish I could get some relief I feel most of the time I am chocking good luck to you

There is a huge posibility that you may have mono. I had the same symptome and my strep test also came back negative over and over again. They are very similariar mono is just viral and last a lot longer.

If you have puss on the tonsils then it is an infection- which causes the other symptoms you need to see a doctor and get a script for antibiotics- sympotoms like body aches and headaches should start to clear up within 2-4 days then you will eventually get better

I have just been diagnoised with slient reflux, this was burning my throat when i was lying down and causing the puss and inflamtion i am not anti acid tabs now seems to be reliev it hope this helps
