I hate a quarter sized bump that appeared yesterday, it is sore to touch, and feels hot. Could this be a spider bite?

Spider bites that are basically harmless do in fact look very similar to what you have described. Bites from more dangerous spiders don’t have to hurt or be felt at all, they are usually detected by other signs that appear unrelated to body part where the bite is, like severe joint or muscle pain, hot and cold flashes, difficulties breathing, tremor. But, all spider bites should have bite marks, two small points inside a bump. Do you live in the area where spider bites are fairly common? Other option to consider is possible inflammation of, most likely follicle. That also leads to bumps that hurt and are warm to tuch because of the inflammation.
