i quit smoking 6 months ago and then slipped up at at party, a week ago since then i have had about 6 cig i want to get back on track i`m scared it isn`t going to be so easy to do. the first time i went on the patch and it was fairly easy for me...i was wondering what i should do about it now. would it be smart to go back on the patch the lowest dose and start from there? i have not been on the patch for the last 4 months. or is the patch going to do more harm then just quiting cold turkey?? thanks for the advice

Hi, first of all. You are doing a good job on quiting smoking. People often underestime how big this step is in someone's life. I think its one of the bigest you can do. So go for it and keep up the work. As for the patches there are several patches that are different in how much mg of Nicotine they have like : "People who usually smoke 10 or fewer cigarettes a day will start on one 14-mg patch per day for six weeks, and then step down to one 7-mg patch per day for two more weeks. In this case, only eight weeks of treatment are needed."... That is for the patches. As for your attempt, i think you would be better without patches since your body does not need that much nicotine as it did when you smoked. And scientist say Nicotine withdraws from your body after two weeks.

However, if you find it a lot easier to quit with patches , maybe its scary to quit without them, then go for them, use the smallest one you can find. Good luck!!
