I thought i was doing myself a favor when i quit smoking but i feel horrible. I feel like fainting, very nauseated, ringing in my ears. Its Day 43 smoke free. Doctor says might be anxiety. Im on Paroxetine for 5 days now. Doesnt seem like its helping.

Any Ideas if this is anxiety or something else?
Hi Newbie10,

You did do yourself a favor by quitting smoking. I don't know how long you smoked, but our bodies react to the loss of all the garbage in cigarettes. I smoked for years and when I quit I experienced dizziness in my feet and hands felt like pins and needles, my lips became chapped and I was exhausted a lot of the time the first month. My body was beginning to heal itself and flush out all the toxins I was feeding it.

I found that drinking a lot of water helped so much.
Anxiety can cause so many physical symptoms. I would take in deep breaths and slowly release them.
I started walking everyday to breath in the fresh air and exercise.
The feeling faint and ringing in your ears could be from quitting and anxiety but you should seek medical attention if it doesn't go away.

You are a non-smoker congrats. It's the best thing you could do for yourself and your body.
Take care..
