I am 41, have not changed any of my lifestyle routines or habits, and have never experienced this before.
OMFG I can’t believe it . Last night I discovered the reason for the rashes on my elbow. Its the Office Chair I purchased. And ever since I have had these rashes I noticed that after sitting in the chair my rashes worsened I would go wash then cleaned them with alcohol. Itching would disappear. From reading all these post I am definitely sure that there is a chemical in the plastic of the chair that is no good for the skin. i have cleaned the armrest with alcohol and have covered them with socks I have a funny feeling about this and believe that is the same model of chair or from the same manufacture. I will past a photo of the chair I have.
in this months journal of the american academy of dermatology-feb. 2013,pg. 306, your skin condition is described as a localized variant of polymorphous light eruption that occurs in spring and summer. treatment with topical steroids will enable resolution.
I get an itchy elbow rash during March-April time frame. The 1st year after several PCP visits, countless creams and no cure, I went to the dermatologist had a biopsy done; the results were that I was allergic to an ingredient in my blood pressure meds which I've taken for years. The dermatologist prescribed a cream for the rash. After 2 weeks it was gone. Year 2 March 2013 guess what??? The rash is back. It has to be something in the Austin, Texas air that attacks my elbows.
I have the same...hard has been red but with calamine lotion redness has seemed to decrease. I've had a little area of small lumpy bumps for a few years however has increased significantly within last few months. Does anyone know what this is? There's no itching or pain...just unsightly and irritating!
Just put lotion on it
I've had a seasonal rash on my elbows for as long as i can remember. Little bumps that itch. Only happens in late the Spring/Summertime. As soon as it starts to appear, i get a couple of different tubes of antifungal cream from the store and slather it on a couple of times a day, and it goes away.
It never ever happens in the fall and winter, which leads me to believe that it has something to do with leaning on ones elbows during hot and humid weather conditions, that causes it.
It is much better now.
