good day! i am 25 years old and have a non toxic multi nodular goiter on both thyroid glands. im thinking of surgery to get rid of it because it has become an awful sight. my question is, how long will be the recovery process, and, can i travel by plane after thyroidectomy? can i still get pregnant after the surgery? thanks and God bless.. :-)
Hi Anne,
If your doctor told you that you need a surgery then I’m sure it is necessary. You are young but thyroid surgery is very common now days. The recovery can take up to 4 weeks, but it is almost different for everybody. Some get better sooner some later. The important thing for you to do after the surgery is to follow doctor’s instructions. The diet is very important. I think that you will need to rest first and second week, but after that I think that you will be able to travel normally.
And you will be able of having baby after this procedure. Sometimes it’s not smart to have this procedure if you are already pregnant.
Best of luck
