OMG, me, too!  always associated with the "pee" dream, this has been happening to me approximately twice yearly since I turned 50 (I'm a 56 y.o. female).  I can't help but think it's related to menopause, but I see it's common among the younger set, too.  It's distressing that there aren't MD replies to this.  My (young female) MD acted like I was nuts.  next step: GYN.  A very embarrassing problem.

I am 15 year old female with the same problem as all of you, in fact it happened just before i found this site. And seeing as just on ONE website how so many of us share the same problem, how common do you think this is? When youre in public, there is no possible way for anyone to notice that you have done that, and i have come to the conclusion that its a warning to my brain, dreaming im on the toilet, but being such a heavy sleeper, the warning doesnt effect me so i just go on and use the toiet in the dream, even if it is a strange, unusual dream. But the main cause to my situatian is drinking late at night. Even 2 hours before bed. You HAVE to watch out for that. Yes this is very frustrating, but obviously it doesnt mean theres something wrong with you, because were all strangers, but just on this one website we all do it. And also think, you are unconscious when this is happening so how could your conscious self that everyone knows possibly control the dream and wetting the bed? So just realize its completely not your fault, and its common. Just watch out for drinking late and ALWAYS use the bathroom before bed. At the most 10 mins before bed.

Same here.  I think our body is sending the signal, but one part of the brain isn't waking up to wake us up, and is somehow translated into our dream state.  I am not a professional in this matter-just an observer. And for me it tends to happen if I've had a long period of exhaustion(not enough sleep for several nites) or when I have taken a sleeping pill, or have had to be on a pain med. Plus I drink coffee all day long, so the combo of urine producer & dead asleep brain............

FWIW: I was a bed wetter most of my childhood. I grew out of it, but then it reappeared in my early 20's a couple times, then stopped. And made a come back around 50, rarely happens, but it still happenes. Plus, I've also had short bouts of sleep walking as a kid & adult-I think there is a connection in terms of brain wiring.

Yes, I keep wetting my bed but it is always a dream that am on the toilet and during the dream I usually catch myself. So I would finish on the toilet. Quite embarrassing since I am sleeping with my husband. Don't know if it's insecurity, since I suspect my husband might be seeing someone else. Please help me understand what's going on . I was told by a doctor once, I retain water, and I know my bladder is always full.

Just discovered this site and what a relief! I'm a 52 yr old male who wet the bed several times per year until age 15 and always with an extremely vivid dream of using the toilet while sleep. These episodes came to an end when I simply refused to drink anything after 6 pm. I wanted more than anything for this to stop so I decided no liquids after a certain time. Since that time I have had the occasional "accident" as an adult...and I always incorporate using the toilet in my dream. However, in the more recent instances, I am actually aware in my dream that I probably shouldn't pee because I may be dreaming and actually struggle with myself not to give into the urge to pee. In my dream I start to go then stop myself. It's as if my body knows that it shouldn't do it, but my mind attempts to convince it to give into the urge to pee. It is very bizzare. Most times I awaken just in time to make it to the toilet. For some strange reason today I decided to check the internet to see if others wet the bed while dreaming and I stumbled upon this site. So glad I did...

I know that! I wet the bed and suddenly realize there is no-one to know.Changing sheets is no prob.Just so no one else knows. My sex life is a bit of a downer. No one wants to wake up with me wet or wetting.I say 'wetting' because people notice.

I have a hypothesis to explain enuresis. This is simply a problem that occurs when you allow yourself in real life to pee in a location and posture that is not what your brain associates with a normal life peeing ritual. For example when you pee while taking the shower or in a swinming pool or decide to pee in a location in a dark alley where you are not supposed to. Similar situation occurs even when you pee in the toilet like when you close your eyes because for some reasons you enjoy it. Peeing should be associated with awareness of the act and full consciousness of the suroundings during that period. So if this is a problem for you next time you pee (awake) make sure to associate that full awarness and conscieousness by doing a ritual like this: wash your hand before, smell, observe, listen to sounds, then wash. Another thing. It is a good idea to sleep with your underwear because remember when you pee in real life you take away your underwear so don't fool your brain by sleeping naked.

Is this fake. Are you making this up to tease adults who have had a piss dream/and pissed the bed!?

The exact same thing happened to me today & it happened once before. About three years ago. It's freaky. I asked my doctor & she said it sounds like you were just in a very deep sleep. She told me not to worry. It is such a bizarre thing.

Hi, I am 32 years old also and experienced and had 3 "pee dreams" also. No previous history of bedwetting, other than toddlers years. I woke up a few night being completely soaked in my own pee. Just wondering if any one has seen a medical professional, specifically a urologist for this condition? And if so, what was their response/advice??

I'm 30 and I'm here now because I had the experience a while ago and I'm looking for cure. I'm sharing the bed with my husband and it's already becoming bothersome. The first one for this year happened just 2 weeks ago. I also dreamed of going in a very nice toilet before I pee. I just notice that I often wet my bed whenever I worry about my mom's condition. I'm working overseas, thousand of miles away from my family. What could be the cure for this? Please help.
