Once you have ruled out high blood pressure, rosacea, menopause or an allergic reaction, you might want to consider stress or anxiety as the cause of redness and or blotching of the face, As a 20+ year sufferer of anxiety I am also blessed with occassional blotching. It starts as a redness on the face, neck and usually upper chest and sometimes turns into horrible blotching, depending on how stressed out you are, unfortunately, stress and anxiety can cause a host of physical problems including hbp, diabetes, skin conditions, digestive problems etc etc a nice cool rag ( white) which has no dyes in it that also can be a problem, should help relieve the blotching as well as the burning and I would throw in some deep breathing and relaxing as a bonus.. ( just another thought for blotching and redness)

It's a pain in the ass, when you try and find an answer and everyone is saying "i also have this problem". Just let somone answer then ask them if its similar to you're problem. Then everyone can share their "i also have this" problem.

You are correct about blotching from stress. I suffer panic and anxiety disorder and when i get stressed out my face gets extremely warm and the blotching begins. a cool rag and a quiet room will calm the redness and the blotching, to help prevent further problems that also occur with this, get some books on relaxation, meditation or yoga and learn to relax.

i usually have no allergies or any pimples. However recently i realise a red small patch on my left cheekbone suddenly appear when i woke up alongside with a few pimples breakout . I find it strange as sometimes it swells to a very reddish state , at times it disappears leaving blend red patch instead . It is not itchy is not bulging out , i t has no bumps like pimples. I find it very bizzare and wonder is there any cure for it .

I have the same thing. It is a red patch/circle that appears every couple days. It may be triggered by the cold winter air, or stress. I find that when I get stressed, it comes back. It is embarrassing at school to have red patches on my face and neck.

Today I also woke up with a red spot on my cheek but I also have eczema so it is hard to tell when something is not eczema but when I have eczema it usually burns but this didn't burn so I don't know what it is

I tell you I am 78 and never as much as had pimple before, so I don;t know how to handle this. Anti histamine cream helps when I apply it, but it does not fade the red blotches over cheeks and some irritation under eye. I am trying to figure out what new thing I have done. I diid try CBD oil , so not sure if that started something. Been eating beetroot lately. so cutting that out. In the end, I suspect, DUST MITE, so spent all day hoovering mattress and thorough cleaning Also set up little electronic device to scare away mites etc.. Pain in the butt but detective work required to eliminate possible causes before going to doctor. Worst option as far as I'm concerned. I have to find a solution soon as I am now getting stressed with it , so that doesn't help.

Some red blotches have suddenly appeared on my cheeks (almost the size of a quarter). I started taking sulfa/trimeth DS (septra DS) for bronchitis yesterday. Is there a possible connection?
