Hi. I am a 48 years old man and I have a mother that is 71 and she says that she has problems with the hip. She says that the pain isn't that serious and that it present only when she is standing or walking. Pain is located on the outer side of the hip. No swelling or anything like that. Do you think that there is some bigger problem here?
There is a chance that your mother hit herself while doing something. This doesn't sound like any disease. You say that the pain isn't that severe; in my opinion, that is probably due to the physical inactivity. The best and easiest way to know is for her to go to the doctor and do an x ray. Good day.
