For about a year now I have had reoccuring episodes of sore throats about 1 every month (sometimes more than that) accompanied by tiredness and feverish feeling. There is no congestion or blocked ears.

I had my tonsils and adenoids removed about 5 years ago and I thought that would stop any throat infections.

what could be causing this?

Hi,

Can you tell me if you are male or female? If you are female this might be caused by your period. I know that this is not a regular symptom or a side effect of menstrual cycle but it can happen to some women. On the other hand this can be due to some sort of an infection. Infection can be viral, bacterial or fungal. The interesting thing is that this happens to you every month. Could it be some sort of tumor? Have you noticed any swellings in the tongue when you have this soreness?  You could try to change your diet to see if it helps in any way.

I hope that this was helpful in any way.

Nelie
