Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this! I'm fifteen years old and a girl.
So here is my problem. As far as I can remember, I've been having this ribcage pain for nearly ten years. The pain is hard to describe. It feels like a tightening pain in my ribcage and when the pain hits, I have to stay in that same position. Movement makes the pain worse, this includes taking deep breaths. I usually put above the ribcage rubbing alcohol to ease the pain and of course, just remain in place. The pain just comes in randomly and leaves on it's on, but I found it highly unusual. It usually lasts for a few minutes, but there was a time when it stayed for about 45 minutes or so.
I have visited a doctor for the pain and he's offered literally no help. I was sent to get x-rays and an ultrasound of ribcage/abdominal area. Nothing was found.
In posting this, I was hoping to find someone else out there that somewhat understands what I'm going through and may know something that could help or even tell me what I may have. Thank you!
I wouldn't have had a clue about what might be the possible cause for the pains you are experiencing, if it wasn't for one topic long ago where a girl's mother asked the same questions because her 12 year old daughter was suffering from the similar pains. I've lost contact with her since then, but she found what might be the cause for these pains, a rare condition called Texidor's twinge. Here is the link to that topic, as you will see, what you describe happening fits a;lmost to the detail to description of the condition and I can only hope that you will find a doctor who will be willing to take this into consideration, if all of your other exams don't find anything else.
