I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy 20 years ago. Immediately following surgery I felt intense sharp burning pain in my right buttock, which to touch that area felt totally numb. If I remember correctly the pain radiated down my right leg. I questioned the doctor, and he said that the pain medications I was getting, should completely relieve my pain, and then it shouldn't come back. Well it did. I never questioned it again. I have had that pain for 20 years. I break out with shingles/or the virus in that area as well. Some time the pain is excruciating and sometimes it's tolerable. However, the older I get (I'm 60) the more intense and frequent it becomes. I have had a right lamenectomy on L-5, S-1 about 15 years ago. No one knows what to do with me. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
