I’ve started running in order to regain my slender figure again, but for some reason I haven’t lost a pound although I’m running three times a week. My husband tells me that it’s probably because my diet is not appropriate. To tell you the truth, my logic is that if I already burn calories while I’m running I deserve at least a little treat, like a brownie or some ice cream. What food should I eat?

That’s a very interesting logic, but unfortunately for all of us, untrue , especially taking into consideration that your metabolic process should be activated. It’s true though, that your diet should consist of lots of carbohydrates, little fat and moderate amount of proteins. When we’re talking about carbs, there is a tiny Catch-22 situation. We all equal carbs with sweets, but actually there are two kinds of carbs – simple and complex. You need the complex ones, and they can be found in pasta, cereal, bread or vegetable. The simple carbs are those in sweets and other tasty food, which you’ll have to avoid. Simple sugars are allowed only through fruit juices. If you can’t resist, have a sports bar. Reduce fat as much as possible and I think that’s enough for the beginning.
