yOLA YOU WERE LUCKY YOUR DODCTOR SENT YOU FFOR AN MRI, DID YOU HAVE ULTRASOUNDS BEFORE THE MRI, OR DID THEY SEND U STRAIGHT FOR AN MRI , MIA SAID THAT THE LEFT GLAND WAS IN NORMAL LIMITS BUT ON THE HIGHER SCALE, OF NORMAL, THEN DID ANOTHER AT THE LOCAL DOCTORS WHERE THEY DO SCAN ETC THEY SAID EVERYTHING IS NORMAL, I THINK MIA IS BETTER IN DIAGNOSING THINGS BUT AS I HAVE BEEN TO A FEW AND DOCOTRS IN THE SAME CLINIC, I THINK THEY DONT REALLY TAKE IT AS SERIOUS, I HAVE BEEN TO TWO ENT WHO SENT A CAMERA DOWN MY NOSE INTO MY THROAT AND DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN THIS . THE LUM THAT IS ON MY TONISL AREA THEY SAID NOT TO WORRY ONE SAID EDEMA, THE OTHER SAID IT IS JUST NOTHING BOTH WERE ENT I HAVE BEEN ON ANTIBIOTICS AND STEROIDS BUT IT NEVER VANISHED, I AM SCAED TO GET THE IV CONTRAST AS I AM ANAHALEXIS TO THE IV, AND HAD A BAD REACTION, I THINK THATS WHEN MY ALLERGIES FALRED QUITE A BIT AFTER THAT ATTACH, THAT IS MY THEORY. BY THE WAY WHAT IS HAENING WITH THE LYMH NODE IS IT BECAUSE OF ANY ALLERGIES HAS IT GONE , TAKE CARE AND KEE US OSTED

Because i insisted that i cant swallow and the pressure is on the right and i was passed from one ENT to another as he admitted he didnt know what else to do. The new ENT said he wants to do an "incisional biopsy" which i believe removes it to be tested. I am on the waiting list. They did call me to say it was my turn but them 2 days just before the op, a cancer patient needed my place. So i am doing mine soon i believe.

I have had the same thing. It is very uncomfortable and I saw an ENT last week. He prescribed Dexilant. The diagnosis is a swelling around the vocal cords, caused by a muscle that tightens to protect the vocal cords from acid coming up from the stomach. I have been on Aciphex for several years for reflux, and a few months ago switched to Nexium, I switched because of the price of the Aciphex. However, the Aciphex worked better. I am now taking Nexium and Dexilant, and will follow up with him in one month, at which time, if there is no improvement, we will consult with a GI specialist.
I have been taking the Dexilant for 4 days, and have not felt much relief yet.

how long did it take for you to feel better? NO caffeine at all or were you able to drink a cup of coffee or eat chocolate once in a while or is that out of your diet forever? I'm willing to try, but FOREVER!?

Hi,
I have been very uncomfortable due to this very same condition and did some reading about it. I found some info about it on the following link; pretty useful

my son has experienced tonsil stones. these are particles of food that get lodged into the tonsil cavities of your throat and it feels like something is stuck in your throat. sometimes you can see them (they are white in color) and sometimes you can't. for the most part, you just have to work them out with the muscles in your mouth, gargle a lot, and maybe even use a q tip (cotton side only) to help dislodge the stones. be very careful. your dentist may know about tonsil stones.

Hi. I have the same problem of feeling like something is stuck in my throat. (I drink a lot of coffee. I wonder if that may be a reason.)
I went to the ENT and he did that procedure where he put a scope (with camera) down through my nose and into my throat. There was no problem at all. He was very thorough.
He referred me to an allergist. I will be going there in a couple weeks for allergy tests.
I am going to have a sleep test because I think I have sleep apnea. I wake up gagging in the night.
I hate this feeling of something stuck in the back of my throat problem. I have had it for months, perhaps 6 months or so.
I clear my throat often and even when I don't then I cough it has a lot of slimy (nose) stuff that I cough out.
If anyone knows what this is all about I would like to be informed.
Thanks

you should visit a GI doc and have scope. Inquire about eosinophilic esophagitis (EE). It is often misdiagnosed. basically it is an allergy that makes the eosinophils your throat swell causing the "pill in throat" sensation. Can also make swallowing difficult. The problem is figuring out the allergy. Often times, like in my case, the allergen cannot be identified in which case, you treat the symptoms. ENT will typically not find this. Although it feels like your throat, most likely it is much lower in the esophagus. My suggestion is get the best GI doc followed by best Allergy doc. Good luck

I have just found your post and the similarity to my symptoms is uncanny I have been on Crestor for about 12 months. For about 4 months I have had the feeling of something stuck in my throat, dry mouth and tongue, tiredness in the day and hoarseness plus constantly trying to clear my throat. In view of what you have written and the amazingly similar symptoms I am going to knock the statins off and see how it goes, fingers crossed Crestor is the culprit and there is nothing more sinister affecting me, Thanks again.

i had a cracked upper rear molar that had infected the gum and sinus region, the feeling that a piece of food was stuck on the top back of my throat seems to have disappered after drilling into tooth to drain out the pus and extracting the tooth later along with antibiotic treatment. hope this cures it, i did go to the doctor but he saw nothing wrong, was going to refer me to an ear, eye and nose specialist but this may have fixed the problem.
