I have had back pain awhile now & already know I have a kidney infection since it smells like it was sitting in a bucket a week when it comes out & cloudy. Have pain in my side then started in last few days with numbness in right leg. I had an MRI done more than 25 years ago that showed I have some sort of birth defect, degenerative disease, narrowing of spine & a possible fracture that healed & set up arthritis. I have asked about another MRI over & over. I have NOT been to a regular doctor in a couple of years now. I am wondering what kind of insurance she had? One doctor I went to I was on Medicaid. Later I went to Medicare. The doctor back then commented when I told her it was a waste of my money when the meds did no good & she said, "It's a waste of my money when you are on Medicare." Later my left leg swelled bad. A doppler showed damage & superficial blood clots. Sent to a vascular surgeon that asked what kind of insurance I had. He said no need to do the surgery as long as I still have a pulse in my feet. Doctors take a cut when on Medicaid or Medicare. It DOES affect their decisions to help you. When I was still working & had a good paying insurance they fell all over themselves trying to do tests & surgery. Now I am ignored & most do not even examine me. It is a real shame our health care is affected now by the almighty dollar.
This scares me..iam on here now because i wanted to know what they prescribed for a uti or kidney infection i was told to take amoxicillin even tho the pharmacist said its not for a uti and now 2 days after leaving the walk in clinic iam peeing blood and in worse pain and iam wondering if i should just go to the hospital or wait to see if the antibiotics will work.. i do howver think that doctors should inform people better as i was rushed out in 3 mins and was never told that having a uti that turns into a kidney infection could kill you and when my pharmacist called the walk in were the doctor worked for a new prescription that would be better she wouldnt even call him back so obviously they just dont give a c**p what happens when you leave as long as they make their fat salary. Now that i have read these stories iam going to the hospital until someone does something to help me
Wow.
I am so sorry to hear what you and your mom and family had to go through at the hands of the AMA.
I don't trust Western Medicine.
They are liars, I've nearly died at their hands for their recklessness in my diagnoses, which was usually incorrect.
I am old now and regret never suing as I should have.
Horrible story yet enlightening.
Thank you goldfish 10
God bless you and yours.
Might be a kidney stone. I have a kidney infection (diagnosed this morning) and my dr. gave me a shot to jumpstart healing and I'm on oral antibiotics. My fever was 102.3 and now it's down to 100.0 and the pain is subsiding. He told me "if you don't feel much better by tomorrow we'll do a scan to see if you have a kidney stone." I would go back to the dr. and demand that they do something more. She should be a lot better by now.
:(
The docs did the right think they should have educated you better though an asking her to quiet down is rude.
Hi, this is my first visit to this site, I am sad to here that your Mother had to endure such pain before she passed away, you must have been at your wits end, and now I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Thank you for posting your story and advice. my regards to you. Alex
I have never been on this site before, but read your post as my grandma was a kidney infection and I wanted to see how your experience was. I am so sorry for your Mom.and the lack of response you got when you needed it. There are people that care. I lost my Mom and know how aganizing it is.
Take care.
Debbie
have her take ibuprofen instead and have her drink lots of water, cranberry juice, or aloe vera juice...make sure she gets vitamin c in her system as well.use a heating pad for the pain in her back....
I am sorry to hear about your mom. I have a uti that has gone to my kidneys and I am using essential oils which modern medicine is derived from plants so you are just using the more pure forum by using doterra essential oils I don't go to the doctors anymore because it is a waist of money and use my oils or any problems that arise in my family. If you are interested in learning more about using essential oils for your health you can email me at

This is the saddest story I think I've ever heard. How awful for your mother to endure such pain in her final days. The medical field is so careless as well as thoughtless anymore. I am 57 years old now and healthy and fear becoming ill for these very reasons. No one cares anymore...wait, I take that back. They care about the money.
I felt sad reading your post.I am sorry your mother passed away and underwent so much pain.
I've had a kidney infection quite recently. Same symptoms, I had some abdomal cramping and tightness in the lower back; I thought I was just having menstrual symptoms...that night, ALL HELL! Woke up with the worst pain of my life. The pain comes once the infection has made it to the kidneys, at that point you will beed 800mg Bactrim (Prescription only) and some sort of pain killer to accompany it, the Doctor should Prescribe that as well. Prepare to vomit, lose weight and be bedridden for several days. Good luck, enjoy cranberry juice and be watchful of any future signs of it. UTI test strips will be your best friend.
