Not to worry. I went through this over a period of about a week

before the inflammation slowly receded. There may be continuing redness and irritation which could cause further discomfort but no two cases are exactly the same. Most of us have doubts about our surgeon's competence and men seem

I agree.

We all have the same problem; its the solutions we want.

Ice worked for me. It reduced the swelling in the scrotum a lot. However, when you stop the ice, the swelling returns.

I'm going to keep with the ice routine. Only visibly solution so far.

I had a hernia surgery a month ago and my testicle got larger hang low since than. The Dr said it will go back to its normal size but so far it didn't.

When I want to seat I have to make sure they are not in the way.

Is there any cure for this at all?

I am on day 7 hernia left side, repair no mesh, as it was too big for mesh. I had incredible swelling of my balls and penus. I woke this morning and had to satisfy my mind that my penus would again work ok. It is about twice the size with tremendous swelling around the head of my penus. doctor @ 3:00 today 7/16/12. Seems like everyone here has experienced the same thing. Im so damn nervous about all of this.

Its been almost a month and My left testie is still as swollen as it was a week into it.The swelling starts right below from where I had surgery all the way down into my sac. Did you get any info since your post?

Doctor assures me that this completely normal. No Infection, just massive swelling. Penus size is twice the girth. My balls are like base balls. He convinced me to continue to wear the G string sexy cup holder device, and continue to wear that. I put it on for 24 hours, and my balls immediately shrunk. penus head more normal. Steps and walking extremely gingerly, and it will be 2 weeks Monday 7/23/12. better steps but really slow stepping, but a bit more faster but still slow on 7/19/12. sleeping sucks....

I have just had an open repair done to an old Hernia.

The wound is healing fantastically but I have been suffering with an enlarged hardening purple right testicle. Its so heavy that its causing the most pain. I have found that a jock strap for short periods is a great help as it supports the testicles and the wound, especially when a passenger in a car or just putting the kettle on.

A gel pack that has been in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes is also a great way of reducing the swelling and the relief is wonderful. Keep doing it, as i have seen a dramatic reduction in the swelling by using this method. Trust me Boys, this is my 4th hernia, and a veteran Purple testicle destroyer :-) ... Good luck .... its only blood from the op and will go after a few weeks of perseverance

4 weeks in and have large testie along with a major hemotoma around the top of the pubic area. Havung pain also I dont think this is normal after 4 weeks especialiy with the hemotoma the size of a peach that starts from top of pubic area all the way down into sac. The purple went away about two weeks ago but still extreme swelling. Did you ever have this kind of swelling for this long?

I have been wearing breifs for many years since they hold things tightly togetner at the advice of y doctor.

Anyone stumbling on this thread. If your testicle was swollen and then became rock solid, ask your doctor if it's ok to use a heating pad on the testicle. The heat I guess attracts blood, and that may start progress towards breaking down the scrotal mass.

my boyfriend had the same thing. I've been with him for 10 years and he had it before I met him. It was the size of a softball before he finally decided to go to the doctor. he ended up having emergency surgery. It's been it's been 5 days since his surgery and there is some swelling in that testicle and pain but not as bad as some of the people on here. He does have numbness in that testicle going up that side. We are hoping it's nothing serious. He sees the doc tomorrow so we will know. I told he's going to need a nip tuck on his scrotum do to loose skin. "Joking of course" Just glad he finally had the surgery and I hope it heels well.

i also felt a hard lump a few days after i underwent surgery for an indirect inguinal hernia. its been 2 weeks 2 days now after my surgery and the lump is still there; its uncomfortable and makes my scrotum feel congested, i didn't worry about the swelling of my genitals because i knew it was to be expected, honestly my scrotum felt better when i had the hernia because this lump is rock hard and sturdy; am just praying it'll go away within a month or 2 because i don't like the space its taking up causing the uneven balance in the height of my testicles
