It is perfectly safe to have sex with your wife while she is pregnant, obv the postions in which you use will have to be compromised due to the bump.
I wouldnt say there is a time limit on such a thing either.
I still had sex when i was pregnant with my daughter, if anything i wanted it more. Not sure if this is the case with other females.

i think the usual advice is that it's fine up until the third trimester. the reason it's not so advisable in the third trimester is there is evidence that orgasm in women can induce labour.
I have to agree with both previous posters. Sex during pregnancy is fine, but Also Oz said a good thing, that you have to watch after third trimester. Now positions are something that you both need to work out, and try to make her feel as comfortable as she can.
