I believe this is a urachal abnormality due to the channel from the navel to the bladder not going away like it should have after birth. See the link below and go to see an urologist. I'm going to set up an appointment on Monday. According to that website the tissue should be fully removed or it can become cancerous. It can be diagnosed with an ultrasound. So I've always had this pain with I overuse my core muscles starting around age 14 or so and I'm now 30. Feels like something gets tight then if I move sharply I can pull and injure it. Slowly working out my abs over the years and doing stretches makes it a lot easier to deal with when it happens but still pretty painful. Now that my abs are stronger it just doesn't stick around as long. I've been to several doctors that say nothing is behind the navel and it could just be muscles etc but in my head I always thought "That's BS" and gave up on the doctors. I know they can't know everything but I know what I feel as well.

I have this pain exactly what you are talking about when I straiten my back it feels like there is a sharp string pulling from the inside of my belly button to the middle of my (you know what) it's getting really annoying it feels fine when I hunch over but obviously I am not gonna go everywhere hunched over. I am too scared to talk to anybody about this. Also it is great to know I'm not going crazy. What should I do???

Basically , during our development as an embryo , structure called the urachus is formed which connects our urinary bladder to our umblical cord. This later degenerates to form the MEDIAN UMBLICAL LIGAMENT which is basically a cord connecting the umbilcus ( belly button) to the urinary bladder. So whenever the bladder is irritated ( as in an infection -cystitis or whenever its excessively filled , it contracts, which in turn pulls this ligament , which in turn causes this pain, and we bend down in a reflex to reduce the stretch hence the pain.
I hope i answered all your doubts.
