Just as everyone else has said, thanks for making me feel less crazy. I knew this was an issue when I first got one in my early teenage years. My aunt had UTI test strips and it appeared that I had one so I chalked it up to that everytime I got one. I would know the signs and just take a long nap and slowly get back to moving normally, not lifting heavy objects, not over stretching or anything until I felt 100% again. I figured though as I've gotten UTIs since before I was ever sexually active, it was strange. (I know it can be caused by other things but normally it's from sex). I'm currently struggling from another one and I'm not currently sexually active (lol). I started to think it was a hernia but now I'm wondering if being overhydrated has something to do with it.
I don't work out as hard as I did in my younger years but I drink more water than ever as I've had dizzy spells from dehydration. Now I drink close to 3 liters of water a day and if I'm not working off that water, I'm wondering if it's damaging my kidneys and somehow causing this pain.
Keep in mind, I'm a business major at a state school and the only medical experience I've had is Grey's Anatomy, but no one else has figured it out right?? #findadiagnoses #findacure

I had protein in my wee about 4 weeks ago every time I went for a wee I was scared because I knew the feeling, it would be worse right at the end of the wee. I am 18 and I had food poisoning yesterday and today the tube hurts because i got so run down I am prone to water infections.

Actually quite a few times this is the result of an umbilical hernia. Which is generally non-painful and doesn't usually hurt, unless aggravated. I have one at the moment (Don't need a site source, it was confirmed by two MRI's and a ultrasound of the area) as well as diagnosed by the head of the ER when they were looking for other hernias in or around the groin. They said it shouldn't give me issues. However there is uncomfortability and it creates a "pulling" like cramp if I do crunches. Which doesn't necessarily hurt me, but I can see where it would hurt other people.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences!! My story sounds exactly like so many of yours. At first I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. I was told the pain was because they ruptured. But now I am realizing that I simply have what the rest of you have. I've dealt with it since I was a child and I'm now 30. I agree that it is probably some sort of 'charlie horse'. Thank you for the rice and sock suggestion, I will certainly be trying that!!

Every doctor looks at me like I am insane because all tests come back negative.
At the verge of seeing a psychologist to make sure I'm not actually going crazy.

This has become more frequent for me the longer that I am sitting down through the day.
To the point where I barely can sit through a movie. I need to find a fix for this

I take an over the counter pain med such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, whatever works for you. That usually helps me. Try applying heat also. Think of it as a tense muscle, by sitting down there is no blood flow or oxygen to help heal, try walking around every so often. I hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for sharing. At least now if a doctor says that they havent years of it, we can tell them that we know of other cases. I too have this pain occasionally, and since I was kid. After i pee sometimes it hurts too bad to bad to stand up straight. I always figured it had to do with dehydration.

So as an update. I have been seeing specialist after specialist to try to get this diagnosed and resolved.

I saw a great neurologist who specializes in pain management who seems really confident that this is (for my case) abdominal migraines.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to go through the course of treatment to see if I get better.

Cross your fingers and send good vibes that this heals

It is more than likely a urachal abnormality. I'm currently dealing with this same issue and cannot seem to get help from any doctors. &; anyone has please post!

I've had this exact pain for over 12 years now... I've recently had a ton of testing none and nothing showed up. I'm so sick of doctors telling me it's all in my head. The pain is so unbearable at times I can't leave my bed. Recently (10 weeks) it's been near constant pain and still no explanation. I thought it would be a urachal abnormality but MRI revealed it wasn't... I'm so fed up I just want an answer and a cure!

I have had this pain on and off for such a long time!! I thought I was the only one. All I could come up with was that it was some form of a bladder infection or something similar to that. I have even got to the lab to make sure and every time it comes back negative. Sometimes I can't even stand up! So happy that I am not the only one! Very uncomfortable! I drink a ton of water so that's not the issue and it's not a kidney infection.

This has happened to me since forever. I highly recommend just sitting and drinking water for a little. It will not make it go away completely, but definitely help to take away the sharp pain away. Hope this helps!!
