Hi, I am new here and in need of some advice.

I have recently begun experiencing some weird things and was wondering if I should be worried or not. Within the past two months or so I have lost about 8-9 pounds. Being on the smaller side, my normal weight was around 98. I am now, according to my scale, 89 lbs which is a huge drop for me and a weight I have not been at since high school. Also, my period is late. In January I went off birth control and had normal periods up until this one. I was due to have it this past weekend and still nothing. I also noticed today that I have huge bruises on my knees, back, and shoulder blades. I did just get in from doing sit-ups and working out and due to the placement suspect that's where there from. I do bruise easily, but to my knowledge have never bruised after sit ups.

As I said I did recently go off of my birth control and I'm not sure if these symptoms could be tied in with that. I also started working out (sprinting/running about a mile a day and doing 50 or so sit ups and push ups in the evening) again after not doing so for the past 7 months. Appetite has been a little increased but that is probably due to the working out.

One more note, I also live in a very dry environment (one that I moved to about 6 months ago and one that is much dryer than any place I have ever lived). I struggle with drinking water because I frankly just don't like the taste. I know that I am on the dehydrated side and working to fix that as well.

I was just wondering if any of these symptoms need to be checked out by a physician or if it's workout/birth control/dehydration related and something I should monitor but not freak out about.

To me you have hit it ALL on the head! You stopped birth control - which can lead to weight loss! You work out like and insane person - says she sitting on the couch!!! ;-) 8-| - and then you are dehydrated which can cause bruising and thin skin! Hydration doesn`t always come from water - you can drink vitamin waters etc. OR waters with natural flavoring! Vitamins can also help with your bruising! So start drinking and increse your protein! Good luck and health honey! I just realized why I DONT bruise!!!! LOL
