My father,60 years, has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer adenocarcinoma Stage IV B a month ago.He had his 1st cycle of chemotherapy(Pemgem+Carboplatin) 10 days back as we did not want to waste any further time.On the day of chemo,he was totally fit & fine. But on the following days,he had one or the other symptom like bowels not clear, not having sound sleep, itching in palms & then head, forehead.Itching led to a burning sensation in those areas, though he tried not to touch those regions. For the last three days, his face has swollen such that it is looking deformed. He is not being able to be recognized by people who knew him earlier.Probably it's water,we don't know, but no other parts of body has swollen up,only the face is puffy on the forehead, surrounding the eyes(specially below) tending the eyes to look smaller. We have asked medicines from our oncologist. He has suggested Torasemide 10mg for flushing the water. He is also taking Cremaffin syrup & Dulcoflex tablets for his tight stool.Any other suggestions as to face swelling is welcome.
What does this diagnosis mean - well-differentiates mucinous adenocarcinoma, ovary with no capsular rupture and sections from the omentum show no metastasis?
