My aunt just found out that the pain she has been having during her periods was in fact caused by fibroids. I didn't know anything about fibroids but she says that they are benign and nothing to worry about. She can choose to have them surgically removed, or she can choose to take medication. The doctor says they are not dangerous. Do fibroids have any side effects?
You basically answered your own question in your post, though you might not realise it. Most people opt to use some form of treatment for fibroids because they can be painful and cause a lot of uterine cramping. Most people don't want to put up with the pain. Personally, I would opt to take pills.
