I have suffered from back pain since I was a teen, and it has been progressing with age. Someone suggested I try reiki for my back pain a while back, and though I am not convinced that reiki by any means, I am also quite open minded and willing to give it a chance. A life free from back pain sounds wonderful! Does reiki have any known side effects?
I think reiki can work as well as any placebo. Placebos do have an effects sometimes, because the mind is a powerful healing tool. Personally, I don't think that reiki does anything beyond that. I think the main side effect from reiki is having a thinner wallet. Some practitioners charge a lot of money for reiki.
