HELP! 12 weeks ago used some hair removal on my bum over a 4 week period the inside of my leg became more and more itchy till all the skin started falking off. The doctor belived it was a fungal infection and gave me some daktacort. This made the situation 300% worse, I came out in boils and it felt like my skin was being eaten / burning away in the creases of my legs, I could not move. I saw 2 other doctors over that weekend as I was seriously concerned as I couldn't walk they suggested strong painkillers, antibiotics and antifungal tablets. After some urine tests / swabs / bloodtests my doctor now says i dont have a fungal infection, although it intially looked like it. 4 weeks later I have been on constant antibiotics also I have been to see a micro-biologist who could not help. I will be seeing a dermatologist at end of next week. I'm seriously worried as it as been going on for so long I still don't know whats wrong. I came off the antibiotics for week and then started taking them again and it striaght away seemed to be making it worse as this morning there is a strange smell and has started ozzing again. I'm really scared there is lots of very lumpy / blistered dark purple skin.
PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHTS ON THIS ARE?

Many thanks in advance.
Hi, I realise that i am replying to a very old post but just in case you were still having problems (hopefully not) I figured I should let you know that I had something similar that has been diagnosed as hidradenitis suppurativa. If this is what you have then it wouldn't have been caused by the hair removal cream but that could just be a coincidence!

I am replying to a very old post like the previous person.

I am not a medical person but with my basic knowledge I can see it's the wrong medicine for a fungal infection. Dactacort is essentially a hydrocortisone which is food for fungus. Fungus will thrive on hydrocortisone. If it's a fungal infection as diagnosed, you should have been prescribed an anti fungal cream such as Canistan, clonea etc. Thanks.
