I am not sure if it healthy, but my boyfriend has been using sleeping tablets for month now and he said that they don’t work on him anymore. I told him that it could be dangerous. Also, I was wondering are there some herbal sleeping tablets that he could use instead.
Sleeping tablets should only be used for short periods, less than 2 weeks and that is for instance if you are so distressed that you cannot sleep at all. However, if he has been on sleeping tablets for a long time, it is best to cut down the dose slowly after discussing it with his doctor. And for herbal tablets I know few. Valerian Root, acts like a diazepam, St John's Wort is a bit different and seems to be best for anxiety, Kava Kava does seem to work more like a sleeping medicine.
