I had my uterine wall removed with Novasure ablation surgery. I've :-( had urine leakage with a very bad odor since the surgery. It has been almost 1 year and I would like to know what is wrong. I nverver had this problem before. I suspect that the surgery caused injury to my bladder. Please help.
Thank you,
Carol

I am wondering, like the original post, if anyone else has urine leaking after they had the Nova Sure endometrial ablation.  I had mine done in early  May 2011.  I leaked weird fluid for so long that it is now a month later and I am realizing I am leaking urine, even with sneezing and coughing which used to sometimes happen if I had a full bladder.  This is bad, what can I do?  Also, I have had my period once since the procedure and it was slightly lighter but still 7-8 days.  I am hoping it will get better, but my doctor told me after the procedure that my uterus was larger than the equipement and she couldn't get a burn on my whole uterus, so I would continue to have periods.  Just wondering if anyone else was told this and what has happpened?

I had NovaSure ablation two weeks ago.  I am bloated since surgery and have pressure in my pelvic area and am leaking urine for the past 5 days.  Has anyone had this problem where it has stopped.

My doctor told me my uterus was slightly large, and the ablation may not be effective. I did it anyway. It's been 6 days, and so far, no pain, but I have some leakage as well. It's too soon to know how my periods will be, but hopefully all will go well... good luck

I just had mine done last week and am leaking urine bad. Although I was given an explanation. It's something that most woman have and get the ablation not realizing it, then their problem doesn't go away. It's called interstitial cystitis ... Please look it up all you lady's who are having problems ... I have leakage, swelling, foul smell since surgery and painfully sex prior to surgery.

In addition there is treatment for IC.....my dr does heparin treatments with pelvic floor therapy depending on how bad your IC Is will determine treatment. There's a lot of info on the Internet about IC so you won't be going in blind if u do a little research first.

I had my uterus, and ovaries removed 10 years ago, a surgical hysterectomy, and have had urine leakage with a very bad odor as well. The estrogen pills don't take the odor away, I suspect bladder leakage or injury as well. I wish I could help you, I am still looking for answers as well, I feel your pain too!

Did anyone ever reply to you? I'm going thru the same thing. My doctor thinks there might have been a thin spot along my csection scarring that the ultrasound didn't pick up and that the ablation went thru there and injured my bladder. She said I may need surgery. I'm waiting for her call. What happened with you since?

I had a cyst on my left ovary. After many years of thinking/praying about it, finally decided to have the ovary removed. At the same time, I also had my right tube tied as well as having an ablation and removal of the IUD I had. Surgery went well, they said at some point I started bleeding non-stop but they were able to stop it. Recovery has been tough. The pain has not been bad but getting my energy back has been a struggle. Just 2 days ago (at about day 7 post surgery), I thought I had gotten my period but it was clear. I've been wearing liners since but noticed they not holding all the liquid. First time I noticed it was like a "gush" and now its just a constant leak. I have never had this problem before. I've always pride myself in being able to "hold it" for hours at a time! At my follow up visit today, the Dr. wasn't overly concerned. She said my bladder may be over reacting to anesthesia and the post op meds. I should wait a few weeks she said and if no changes, I need to go back... This is really freaky and I'm praying this is by no means a permanent issue. I don't know what I'd do if it was!!

I had my procedure done 5 days ago. I finally saw my chiropractic doctor that has a cold laser. This quick and cheap treatment has made my recovery much much better. My bladder issues are much more resolved (although still not gone)

I had novasure procedure just over a month ago. Ever since I have not felt "right."  Yes, on leakage. I used to wear a panty liner daily and now I need 1 or 2 pads a day. There is a little bit of pink in the fluid, so not sure if it is urine, or the healing process or what. I also feel very tender and bloated all the time in my abdomen. HOPING this goes away!  I have no idea if my bleeding issues were resolved by the procedure. was on my period when I got surgery and two weeks later I appeared to be having another period, though lighter than usual, but pms symptoms and all.

I had the procedure last august and now 6 months later yes the periods are lighter. Have shortened from 10 days to about 4-5. The cramping is not debilitatating, and i have gone from using super plus/extra tampons every hour to regular every 2-3 hours. I am however experiencing weird discharge however. Some days i need a liner some i dont. Its a trade off for the pain. It has no foul odor and isnt heavy...GOD bless you all in your journey!
