About a month ago I discovered a smooth, rounded lump on my cervix, it is about the size of a small pea. It is just to the side of the opening of my cervix and it causes me no pain or discomfort. Since I first noticed that it was there it has grown a little but not very much. I have been monitoring it to make sure its not growing and it has basically stayed the same size.
I got my period yesterday and used my diva cup (a silicone menstrual cup that basically fits around the cervix and collects the menstrual blood) for the first time after discovering the lump. This morning I took out the diva cup and felt the lump and it almost feels deflated. At first I couldnt tell if it was even there anymore but it is there its just not a big. It feels like there was some sort of fluid in there and now some of it has drained out.
I am currently living in France and do not have my french health care yet so going to the Dr will be expensive so I dont want to go unless entirely necessary. Ive done some reading and it seems that it might be a nabothian cyst.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!
I see you got no responses to your original question. But I would be really grateful if you could let me know how you got/are getting on as I have exactly the same problem! Although I'm in the UK, I'm reluctant to go to my GP as it seems I'm always there (I have Fibromyalgia & other medical conditions which mean I'm on various medications & need to be fairly regularly monitored; I always feel like I'm being a nuisance whenever I go to the surgery.)
I've been trying to ignore the problem for some while now (although I'm constantly sore 'down there' aswell), but now both my husband & my sister are insistent that I make that appointment. I'm menopausal aswell (I've just turned 50), so that tends to complicate things even further unfortunately!
Any advice please? (Or, if anyone else reads this, & has been through the same or similar experience, I'd be really grateful for any ideas.)
I look forward to hearing from you (or someone!!) :-)
