I have had smelly urine for months now. Sometimes less and sometimes more intense.
I remember my urine smelling somewhat as far back as a year or more, but about 5 months ago after having anal sex with my partner I had smellier urine, and often a discharge coming out of my penis. It was hard to tell whether it was more like pus or like a bit of semen that had been left behind after ejaculation.
I also got ill and had a high temperature around the time but dismissed it as cold/flu.
Anyway, 5 months on and my urine is still smelly. Some days I get an urge to pee very often, but I dont have a burning sensation. I feel ok generally, maybe a bit tired at times, but theres other reasons like a lot of work to explain it.
I got a bit alarmed though last week because I have lost about 2 or 3 kg of my usual weight, which is usually quite stable at 75 or 76kg. My diet changed recently because I was recently a dad, my partner is busy, and I do more cooking. But I wouldnt have thought my cooking is less fatty than hers. I am not doing more exercise either.
I have often had 'hypochondriac' thoughts like suspecting I had cancer for no good reason, or thinking that I was going to have a heart attack. (A few years ago at a checkup for a new job the doctor said I had a slight heart murmur, but I shouldnt worry if I felt ok. I started worrying at every stitch or slight discomfort on my chest. Then I read that a feeling of impending doom was a symptom of heart attack and it worried me even more.
I never went to a doctor for any of this. In fact I have never had my urine or blood analysed as an adult, and rarely go to a doctor.
Now, I guess what I have is a urinary tract infection, but the weight loss and no actual burning sensation got me worrying whether I have something serious like a tumour in my kidneys or prostate.
What would other symptoms of that be?

well go to a doctor then, why would you leave it go on so long and pass it back and forth to your parter and there is home kits you can even check now... just dont know why you would leave it go for a year or more?????
just realised this old post, i sure hope u havent left it go for another few year without checking?!
I'm 60 years old male, with high fever, weight loss, smelly urine, and no energy, just lying around for 5 days. What is going on?
