In response to the above post; I don't know about the deleted content, but I CAN understand the point of view that "growing up and taking responsibility" means EXACTLY THAT. In other words, if smoking reefer gives you a sore throat, anxiety from a racing pulse, or chronic cough, then cut down or quit for a period of time - or forever. ANY other problems with pot use are really psychosomatic disorders - so stop blaming the weed and examine and realise what it is in your life that is holding you back.
I smoked about an ounce a month for over thirty years. Had to quit because of the ridiculous drug tests that are being administered by an intolerent, repressed, and politically motivated society here in the U.S. (California excepted) Airline pilots, neurosurgeons, Air Traffic Controllers etc. sure I can understand testing, but it's gone SO overboard the past 15-20 years. This attitude is reflected by these comments about how pot has "ruined" your lives. Total brainwashing.
Giving up chronic (everyday) pot smoking WILL help you breathe easier. Being smoke-free for over 8 years now, I can definitely feel the difference, and it's great. The "edge" that pot gives to the cognitive/creative faculties is something I sorely miss, though, and it makes me a bit sad, and times even angry, that I have to forego the God-given herb because of political corruption and greed by a wealthy few who control laws regulating it and the ignorant members of society that live in fear of "losing their mind" by ingesting this relatively harmless substance.

I smoked a gram a day for years! forcing yourself to stop is not gonna work, you have to naturally bring about circumstances that would make you want to stop. i joined a martial arts school where i train 4 nights a week. playing a sport or exerting yourself physically will naturally make you want to make healthy choices. it does not have to be this forceful way of quitting, let it be natural. Nothing that you want to do should ever bother you, if it is...then your thinking of it wrong! Healthy choices are a domino effect! try it! works wonders! let it happen gradually & willingly, force will never work!

Am I the only here who notices how the pro-marijuana people are just plain rude and insulting? Accusing the OP of being lazy and irresponsible but yet they are perfectly in the right for taking an illegal drug. And it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't straight up insult the OP. Okay you haven't experienced the effects of marijuana- good for you- but accusing someone of being lame or wrong for experiencing horrible effects is just plain rude and arrogant. If he got addicted to the stuff, then he got addicted to it. And for whoever said marijuana is only psychological affects you are also dead wrong. Read some scientific articles since it also causes hyperinflation, large airway resistance and immunosuppresion. And also there have been a recent study that states a relationship between marijuana and mood problems such as anger, hmmmm. Also whoever did the smoking marijuana makes you smart with their whole As and Bs in college spill doesn't actually mean who have common sense; or that you won't crash in a few months from your cannabinoid receptors being on dopamine overdrive. And also the poor spelling is not showing an A and B student.
Anyway to the OP, I hope you are going better and that you have gotten over the addiction :)

all of ya'll are bit***s! Stop blaming marijuana for your lazy and dumbass choices! Smoking weed doesn't make you late to work, that's your dumbass not paying attention to the time. People can function perfectly fine while on marijuana, I've been around all my family high including my parent, grandparents, cousins, aunt uncles etc, even church and school. It helps me learn better and motivates me.

i started smoking since i was 18 and after 4 years i had to stop cold turkey, it affected my social life, my wallet and my job.
the first few weeks will be very hard and thats when you have to stay strong mentally, a lot of people can do it so why can't you! just have that positive mindset and once those few weeks go by , you will feel a lot different ,more happy and normal i guess, i kind of forgot that feeling cuz i was constantly high everyday.but you will love it when you go back normal again and you will NEVER want to smoke again.
now I'm loving life, loving my job and i just bought a 50K car.
WILL NEVER TOUCH THAT sh*t AGAIN

Okay pot does not destroy lives. Pot is not for everyone, any individual who smokes it and has a bad outcome, is the one ruining their life by not being responsible. I smoke it because of PTSD and other health issues, it has protected my lungs(cannabinoid coating to protect from smoke inhaled) i use to smoke cigs and the herb helped me quit. If your lungs are having a bad time, then eat it, not smoke it, their are also vaporizers. I smoke it once in a while and because it changes my views on things, it prevents me from killing myself(i have had depression all my life), but I only smoke it every once in a while, because like every drug, moderation is key. It is not in any way a gate way drug, as I smoke my bowls with my friends who also love coke, yet no way in hell will I have try coke, because responsibility is key. I will not blame an herb for if I ever do something stupid, just myself for not being responsible. If you can't handle it, tell a doctor or your wife that you need help. There are also different types of weed so you may be smoking a type that you do not react well too. For instance I like purple or blue domino cheese, but if I smoke crown, I have massive migraines, but if I smoke purple or blue domino cheese, I am happy, calm, collective, and am able. Maybe you need a different type. Also do not smoke indica during the day, but sativa. Indica makes you sleepy and sativa makes you energized. The loosing muscle, is because marijuana rises estrogen in humans. I have lost weight because of weed but to prevent myself from losing muscle mass, when I have the munchies I go for protein filled foods, and just anything that is healthy instead of chocolate bars. Go for more protein. When someone lacks motivation and is lazy, it usually means they are not happy with the circumstances around them. Is your life positive? You said you have lots of stress, so the lack of motivation could just be that when you are sober, you realize how bad things may actually be. Do not blame yourself for what your friend is now doing, that is still their fault. I have friends that try to introduce many drugs to me, yet still I made the decision to not take them. I had 10 of my friends who love ecstasy try to pressure me into it, I said no, and when Im stoned and they ask, a bigger no to ecstasy is heard (marijuana gives me self confidence). Because marijuana is so good for me, you can't blame the herb for horrible actions you make or the way you react to it, it's your fault. You do not react good to the drug, nor does your brother in law. Weed is in no way for everyone. Just like alcohol isn't. Only those who are affected by it positively and know how to be responsible with it and who understand that moderation is the key, can smoke weed. Going to a councilor, doctor, or better yet psychologist could help you and you must let your brother in law know that he needs to get help too. You two could go and be supports for each others quitting. If your friends are true friends they will understand that you need to quit and so you can tell your friends no to pot. Tell; them how badly you react to it and that it is not for you, and if they care about you, they will accept that you need to quit and your friends and you can make plans to hangout without having any pot involved. I have ditched every friend who kept pressuring me to do other drugs, and I say no to anyone else. And have found me friends who understand no means no. I am offered weed lots but do not always takes offers. I am serious when I say that responsibility and moderation is the key but also you MUST have self control. I have been smoking it since I was a child due to the fact that I was physically abused, to get rid of the physically and emotions pain, marijuana was the drug I tried. And from years of smoking it, not one problem has arose as I have been so careful with it. I go to the doctors and see councilors a lot to make certain that this drug is not affecting me negatively physically and psychologically. Good luck, I support you in quitting as it isn't for everyone. I hope your friends understand and that you and your brother in law can get help.

I've researched marijuana for years. I've spoken to doctors, psychologists and pot smokers who have smoked it for over 30 years. All of the individuals I have spoken to have assured me, that in moderation, pot is okay, and the pot smokers who have smoked it for over 30 years, had no lung problems and none of the problems that the other individuals posting, have complained about. "Read some scientific articles since it also causes hyperinflation, large airway resistance and immunosuppresion. And also there have been a recent study that states a relationship between marijuana and mood problems such as anger, hmmmm. " Scientific articles are not something to go on. Most articles are incorrect and lots of junk is put onto the internet. There is no hyperinflation, no large airway resistance and immunosuppresion. I may be getting this drug prescribed to me since it has been such a useful and helpful drug for me, as I have PTSD, depression, heart palpitations, insomnia and other things that marijuana eases. People must take responsibility when doing drugs, just like alcohol, moderation and responsibility are key when it comes to marijuana. If someone was drunk and drove a car, I would not blame the alcohol, but the person driving, just has if someone was stoned and drove a car, I'd still blame the person, not the drug. I smoke marijuana, it has not only improved my life but has made it so I could live. Since I use marijuana in moderation, my life has improved and now I can focus in school because my flash backs have stopped and I can finally get some rest. This drug is not for everyone, as it can make the issues I have myself, that I stated above, worse. Weed affects everyone differently. I just wanted to share with you my perspective on it, since no one has really talked about the benefits of it.
