Had ankle fused 2 years ago.Smoked weed daily. Today I booked another surgery on the same ankle because it didn't heal properly. I'm a rock drummer. This sucks. My advice.......quit smoking. At least til you heal.

Just had an EGD upper endoscopy performed on me and they used propofol for putting me to sleep. I was just wondering if tonight which would be 7 hrs later if it's okay to smoke marijuana?

I need other peoples opinions, I had surgery on my Achilles tended 3 days ago and I had a few doctors warn me to not smoke cannaibs after woods because it affects the blood cells and will make the healing process longer? It's this true cause I don't want to believe it. Im against anyone who's against cannabis!

I've had full hip replacement surgery. I started smoking cigarettes and weed lightly after 2 weeks of recovery. Now it's infected after 5 weeks, and have to wait up to 10 weeks for the infection to heal before I can replace my other hip. Im 28 years old. Don't let anyone tell you it's okay to smoke while recovering. DONT. It ain't worth it. Doesn't matter if it's tobacco or pot. Smoking screws with the blood vessels and recovery process. You can Google all you want about other people's experiences, and try to justify it. I have. All I'm saying is that it happened to a lot of people, is it worth taking the risk? Just let it fully heal then smoke all you want afterwards

Yeah the nerve block usually lasts about 30 hours. I know people that take pain meds and other narcotics i.e. Percocet, xanax, and OxyContin with marijuana all the time. Ofcourse they're taking it to get high so the healing part doesn't come in to play in their scenario

Do real research before you act like some know it all. Marijuana is proven to be healthier than marijuana and alcohol both. There has never been a single death from marijuana use, and it also has no physically addictive properties.

I'm just going to say real quick, marijuana, along with concentrate has anti inflammatory properties. Doctors advise you not to take Advil and ibuprofen etc because they are anti inflammatory medications that slow the healing process. So basically if you're in a sh*t ton of pain and want to take he edge off, smoke a little. If you just want to get high becuase it's fun to get high, try not to because your recovery process will take longer.

Ps, I just had surgery on my ankle and had over 10 pieces of metal inserted. I am in pain but the pain medication works fine (it is supposed to make the pain TOLERABLE, not go away completely). I advise you to only smoke if you feel you have to. I AM NOT A DOCTOR, just a lot of experience.

I just had my gallbladder removed. I was just fine until I started smoking legal recreational cannabis again several months later and I also began having episodes of nausea after almost every meal at around the same time I started. The misery lasted for months until I stopped smoking weed and now the nausea has also gone away the same week I quit. I've always been a supporter of legalization but I guess I can't partake if I want to feel good after I eat from now on. I've always enjoyed the effects of cannabis and was a daily user but my body apparently does not want me to do it. It is what it is...go figure.
