I have had asthma all my life, and I love blazing that good sh*t.
I don't know, I know I shouldn't be smoking, but I don't know I'm hooked.

:-( I have Asthma since I was 2 years old and been only smoking pot since my 18th birthday off and on for 42 years. When I stop smoking for several months, my lungs clean up and I can breath much better, loose weight, stop getting colds, little to no asthma and my memory is much better. At first smoking pot would relax a strong asthma attack, but now it has a negative affect on my overall health. I still love to smoke pot, but will try not to be around it or anyone that has it.

Good news, a vaporizer will fight off most adverse effects that marijuana will cause. It's not the THC that causes the spasms, it's the toxic plant matter that is found in the smoke itself. When smoking a vaporizer, the plant matter is filtered out, and all you are breathing is pure THC vapor. I have asthma and that is what I use. Us asthmatics have to take different precautions non asthmatics have to take. Just use a vaporizer and you should be fine. THC acts as an anti-inflammatory. Humans have been using it for centuries to treat pulmonary spasms.

It really depends on the person as Marijuana effects everyone differently, i've had asthma all my life and ever since i started smoking marijuana my asthma problems disappeared completely. studies have shown that in some people it actually helps control asthma but in others it can make it worse thats why it is rarely prescribed to people with asthma and if so they have them use a vaporizer

I have asthma but it is very well comtrolled with my advair which I take every morning. I also take my rescue inhaler whenever I smoke with my buddies. I just started smoking about 4 months ago (I'm 14) and I smoke like 4-5 times a month and I have not noticed any difference in my breathing. I usually smoke joints or out of a shitty little wooden pipe my friend carved lol and sometimes the smoke burns my throat but my breathing hasn't been effected. I am also very athletic and I have been able to keep up in sports just as good as I did when I didn't smoke.

It's not because you're not getting thc. It's because your screwed up scilia are finally able to begin removing the years of slime you've been pasting on the walls of your lungs. It is very common for smokers of both pot and tobacco to go through a period of this and, though it's rough on certain form of asthma, is very healthy.

And yes, pot, or any smale particles inhaled with carbon monoxide, along with any other impurities you're bound to get, is TERRBAD for asthma. Asthma is a condition where your lung tissues are in a constant state of inflamation, even when you feel no effects of it. Any irritant inhaled will exacerbate, or at least continue, the cycle of inflamation present in you. For people with asthma, Pot, tobacco, incense, camp fires, wood stove, even candles, can produce terrible effects. To make matters worse, the longer your are in this state of constant inflamation, the worse your end results may be. You may smoke cigs and pot fine for years wih asthma, but then one day, you are likely to be smacked with an episode that seriously degrades your lung function and find yourself more sensitive to irritants than ever before. Your doctors are not trying to ruin your fun. If you knew how many of them smoked pot, you may frankly be less inclined to trust their hands under the scalpel. It's your life, and not a second of it is enjoyable when you cannot take a clear breath; take it from someone on several steroids and bronchial dialators just to be in constant pain.

That is normal! i realize this is a old thread but i have to comment. I quit twice, once for a year and once for 2 years. each time i quit my asthma was worse and i coughed up tons of c**p. Your lungs are finally getting the chance to clean themselves off. It sucks but it goes away. AGAIN i know this is old but for anyone new to the thread reading, rest assured it gets much better! i just got a bag and have not been able to touch it cuz my asthma has been bad today. I am quitting again reluctantly! On the real, any smoke is going to bother the lungs, but if your triggers are related to allergies and inflamation then it will definitly effect you in a negative way!

I was the same way! But if you realize what your risks are...its stupid! I mean, 30 to 60 minutes of being high and having to deal with things that could harm you for life and lower your chances of living longer VS. Having fun the natural way, and having a better future. Think about it.

I've had asthma since i was like five. I've had a number of asthma attacks(only remember the first) the rest I probably shoved off, having gone through the worst in the beginning. I've had to use breathing treatment machines throughout my life. The asthma somewhat died down during early high school, but I'd still use my inhaler every now and then(I trained myself never to use my inhaler until i really couldnt breath all that much, you know the point where it feels like your heart is trying to breath out your chest) So I started smoking herb and that was nice, but my asthma wasnt all that bad when i started. But then. . . .I started smoking tobacco cigarettes. Of course I noticed right away the tightening of the chest and not being able to cough up anything. Well 5 years later, I know what effects me and how. I actually went from smoking/using herb/cannabis recreationally, to now actually having to use it. I havnt used my inhaler in a couple years, yet my asthma symptoms are back(not being able to breath), and i just smoke weed. Herb is my inhaler. Cannabis herb is an expectorant, to cough up anything bad out of your lungs, and one of the best bronchi diolators I've ever come across. When I cant breathe I need weed, or im in extreme discomfort, and now that i know i can use an herb for my ailment, i dont even want to think about using that mechanical whatever it is spray that they give us as medecine. Oh yeah of course their gonna tell you not to smoke with asthma, but hey, im the one with the problem not them. Hope I've helped with this post, Love you family =)

Well it all depends cuz I have asthma and I've been smoking weed for a very long time and nothing happened to me. And weed is just like an inhaler, it helps you breath good and better. Since I started smoking, I never use my inhaler. But about the chest getting tight, I dont think nothing happens

Well, I have asthma and I was smoking weed for a month or two. It didn't affect my breathing at all. Cigaretter - I can't handle them, but weed... I thought I actually could breathe better and use less treatment while smoking. It's like... it could be like some bronchodilator, I don't know. But as I have heard from some other friends, they say the same, that it actually helps them breathe better. So with some it really helps. But if she's allergic to any ingredient in it, or has an attack while smoking, then quit for sure.
About doctors... they always say quit. For marijuana even more, because it's drugs and no one wants to hear that one uses drugs. So it's the best to see it herself. If she feels better - it's okay, if not - then quit.
