Hi, I had a quick question that has been bothering me for some time. Every once in a while, not often, I sneeze and a chunk of matter comes out of my mouth that is about the size of a pea. It feels like it may be connected or linked to my sinus cavity. The chunk weirdly looks like a small piece of brain matter (i know it probably is not it) but strangely looks like it (Has the texture with small ripples in it like brain matter does). When I squeeze the chunk, it breaks apart and if I smell it, it has a somewhat foul smell.
I know this is gross but is strange and was curious if anyone may know what this is.

This sounds to me like you might be having some sort of an infection in your throat or in your lungs. How old are you? Are you a smoker? This is very disturbing condition to have and I am not sure what could this be. If this had to do anything with the sinuses you would most likely have problems with headaches as well. The infection from sinuses would spread to your throat and even to your ears. Have you tried to boost your immune system a bit to avoid any infection that might cause this problem of yours? You can test this matter at the hospital if it causes you more problems in the future.

Could be a mucus plug, or if you smash it and it stinks its a tonsil stone.... food that got trapped in some of the coverns in your tonsils.

Well at least for me, just now it was infection because I currently have strep throat and I have sneezed out a small chunk exactly as they described twice now

This exact same thing happened to me today, and has happened before, so I had to look it up to see WTF?! I don't have a cold or infection, but I do suffer from violent sneezing from time to time due to allergies. The piece that came out today had the smell of tooth decay (I know, as foul as you described) so I can only guess that it's food that has been trapped in my throat. But the texture freaked me out too - definitely more like brain matter than chewed food. Can't explain it whatsoever! Internet, you're not helping me >:(

Hi, i just sneezed two of them up, they are nothing dangerous, everyone get them, its tonsil stones, they wont affect you if they dont grow too large, you do not have to worry or have to take it to the doctor, its just small lumps of mouth trash.
