Hello, My daugther had broken her sternum a few years ago and now for the last few months off and on she complains about it hurting or being sore. like.. last night it was fine and this morning when she gets up it sore. Is it normal to have off and on pain with your sternum if you had broken it in the past?

Has she had this pain all along or did it suddenly appear? While it is not uncommon for pain or discomfort to occur after breaking any bone, if it wasn't causing pain before the concern would be to identify why now?
How old was she when she broke her sternum? How old is she now? Was it a car accident (seat belt) type injury?
