I have heard that if you do not masturbate or have sex or wet dreams, you are at a higher risk of contracting cancers. Is there a ball park figure for weekly masturbation? %-)
Easy. Let's not jump to conclusions.

This is a fairly new research study result.
There appears to be a correlation between regular ejaculation and lower cancer rates. However, the studies do NOT say how the ejaculation was triggered, nor what other behaviors the men were engaged in.

So, loosely speaking, yes, regular masturbation and ejaculation is related to lower rates of cancer... but so is intercourse, good physical fitness, good diet, low risk factors, lack of smoking, etc.

If you choose to masturbate to avoid cancer, that's really putting the cart before the horse. However, that might be one reason to convince a man that it is alright to masturbate and not feel guilty.

There are plenty of other factors that contribute to cancer that you could modify in your life as well.

As far as an average figure of the number of times that a man masturbates... well, that varies by age, income, social status, employment, marital status... just a whole lot of factors!

It would not be out of the range to learn some men masturbate daily...and some only once every two or three weeks. An average figure for a mature man with other outlets? Possible once a week.

But this is not a prescription. Simply a statement that some men masturbate once a week, and some couples fall into a once a week sexual intercourse pattern.
