I have been having this problem since Feb. Had MRI CT scan. I have a little, the dr. says of spenoid disease in my right sphenoid sinus. I have vertigo, also needles in my legs and feet.. Headaches. Been on antibiotics and prednesone. It helped in the beginning when it was severe. For a couple of days, no symtoms, but then it starts again, mostly in the afternoon. The ENT doesn't help. Had to go to another Dr. to get another course of antibiotics, but the EnT says they don't help but the prednesone will. This time i changed drs, same practice and he was nicer but said, "Don't worry about this" What??? Don't worry... I'm in misery and he sent me home to get some Flonase. Now I'm on this, which I had been using nose sprays, inhaler, allergy meds, etc. everything I can think of and nothing has helped permently so far.. I have to go back end of July. He said my sinuses were clear. Yes, except the sphenoid which has sphenoid disease. He didn't mention it but it was on the CT scan. Again, I felt shoosed out of there. I just sat there wanting to say I came here for help and I am being ignored, AGAIN. Will stress more how I feel next time. Nobody is listening to me. I must say Mucinex severe congestion and cough helps me more than anything. It has guaifienesin 400 mg in it which thins mucus.

Hi

I am suffering from the exact same issue as the moment and was wondering if you have had any help??

I have been dizzy and fatigue for almost a year now and it has not got better i have had a CT scan and been told my sinus have mild inflamation this includes the sephnoid sinus. I am due to get a second opinion from ENT but the last year of my life has been took over by this constant dizzness and confusion along with head pressure thathas never gone. Has this ever got better for anyone??

I am getting over this sphenoid disease problem after about 4 mos. of the most agonizing illness I have ever had. Started out loss of balance, headache on top, in temples, top sides of head, along with extreme, severe pressure like my head was going to explode and pressure even in my face. Went to ENT, got MRI. He said nothing wrong. Can you imagine?? I demanded something for this. He gave me antibiotics and 5 days of prednisone. Stopped pain but was coming back after 2 wks. Went to reg. Dr. Gave me 875 mg of amoxicillian, full course prednisone. Eased again. Continued still with lots of drainage down throat . Also had pins and needles in legs, feet and various areas like little buzzes, like a feather tickling all over. Went to neurologists for pins and needles. MRI scan shows some cysts in bottom of back. Haven't talked to him yet about results. Also my reg. dr. sent me back for CT scan for my sphenoid. Showed a little disease. By now I am feeling much better. Had gone back to ENT ( different one in office) and he told me to take flonase which I am doing. Don't have the dizziness and loss of balance anymore. You must get an CT scan to see what is going on in your sinus. A follow up after meds is good. I don't know why the docter doesn't scope to see what is causing this., viral, bacterial or fungi. I also asked for a fungi med in case it was fungi , so I was trying to cover everything in case it was bacterial or fungal. Of course, a virus would have had to run its course. Hope this helps everyone.

Had for 4 mos. had antibiotics, prednisone. Went to 4 different doctors. You must get CT scan. Had severe symptoms. Headache in temples, top of head, face, eyes. Head felt like it was going to explode. Dizziness, loss of balance, mucas drainage in back of throat. Mucinex severe cough and congestion. It helped thin the mucas. This helped a lot. You have to keep the sphenoid drained. Also drink a lot of water, this helps it thin also. I used Vicks inhaler constantly and doctor told me to get Flonase. You can get generic brand, so cheaper. I feel the doctor should scope this to see if it is bacterial, fungal or viral. Still don't know what mine was. The doctor said don't worry about this, but I read it is the most dangerous sinus disease. Also my ears hurt, and felt like something was running in them and they itched a lot. Drove me crazy. Those things stopped now. Good luck. Hope this helps.

I have Sinus infection for the last 14 days. The symptoms include

- Headache on top of the head

- Ear fullness

- Ear Pain

- Tender scalp on top

- Stiff Neck

- Irritation and Confusion

There was no cold or cough, but there was mucus deep inside. I think I have a Sphenoid sinus infection.

What I believe has worked for me

- Steam : Deep inhale steam so that it reaches all the sinus spots, esp, the sphenoid sinuses which are deep inside. The goal of inhaling steam is to melt the mucus. Snort it out and spit it out with all force. You can also use cocunut oil mixed with water for steam. I used it once, and the good thing was the steam was very smooth to inhale

- Mucinex / Mucinac : These tablets can be taken 2-3 times a day. It melts all the mucus and provides relief in a day or two, depending upon how much needs to be cleared

- I have read lot about "Flonase" nasal spray. People have shared their positive experience. This is expensive in India. My Brother in law is in US right now, he would be getting it back for me very soon.

- Neti pot : Neti pot irrigates the nasal passage and clears all the mucus almost instantly. If this is done, twice or thrice a day, it can clear out the mucus from Sphenoid sinus as well. However, one should research enough and watch Youtube videos. Also, never use Tap water, that increases the chance of bacterial infection. People have died from brain infection. Research a lot. I did all my research, but still some water got in my ear canal, I had a tough time removing it. I read that, it is also possible that it is not water but the displaced mucus, which obstructs the ear canal. In such cases, 2-3 times Neti pot usage would be required with Salt mixed in the boiled water. Always remember to use filtered, distilled, and pre boiled water mixed with salt.

All the best and speedy recovery. Eventually, you will make it.

I have similar issues, including the pins and needles which is the most confusing. Curious, sounds like after several months you are on the mend - are the pins and needles better too? thanks for response!

I started with sphenoid infection last September. Had the worst pain in my head thought I was going to die had emergency CT which showed the sphenoid infection. Got antibiotics thought I got better but apparently did not. Got the infection 4 more times. The infection was not going away just laying low for a short period of time. With this last infection had another CT now my whole head is infected all sinuses it is called pan sinusitis and I have to now have surgery next month. If this would have been treated properly maybe it would not have spread. Yes, my neck hurts always. Went for PT today & acupuncture the other day and they both found a pocket of fluid in my neck due to the infection in my head. I have been on antibiotics for over a month & will stay on them until after surgery. I am miserable and have been for a year.

I have many of the symptoms Mike described and have been going through this for over a year now. My eyes hurt sometimes and I have several visual disturbances, my ear pops and aches and always seem plugged or muffled and also fluttering/drumming sounds, my head has short bursts of headaches, and my neck constantly aches at the base of the skull where the neck and skull meet. I was originally diagnosed with a sinus infection from a CT scan but in the maxillary sinus, not sphenoid last summer of 2016. I was surprised because I did not feel any usual sinus symptoms at all, no stuffiness or anything. Was put on two rounds of antibiotic (cefuroxine) and it helped eased things a little. Then, the neck pain set in, with crackling and more, but my ENT said it probably was not related. So I thought it was a neck issue, because at the time, my biggest symptom had been sudden severe dry eyes and visual disturbances, and neck issues can affect vision, especially the C2 vertebrae. I did have a fall that caused a concussion, on my face...on the cement, tripping over a lovely parking bumper in a rush to get to, ironically, a massage appointment on time. Anyway, so it's been a while since that seemingly innocuous fall and I believe that from all the late night research I've done, that my concussion is what triggered my sinus problem, perhaps shifting my sphenoid bone on impact, and in turn, affecting my vision and then my sinus and hearing and neck. I saw several upper cervical chiropractors (knee chest, NUCCA, and BLAIR) with limited success and I believe two of them actually made me WORSE....but the last one patched me up to a satisfactory level, but not without side effects, and I "fled" as soon as I felt somewhat stable in the neck again. Now I'm seeing an osteopath and a PT who specializes in who gentle neural and cranial manipulation. They have confirmed that I do have cranial issues going on and that the sphenoid seemed to off kilter. It is only the beginning stages for me for treatment with them, so we'll see where this takes me. Maybe I'm just wasting my money as I've already done with the other healthcare practitioners, but I just want to avoid all surgeries and medications, like prednisone or antibiotics unless really needed and hopefully never. I've already seen a crazy amount of different health care providers in the past year with limited to no success, including neurologists, opthalmologists, neuro-ophthalmologist, massage therapist, acupuncturist, physical therapists, regular MD and two NDs, an ENT, and so on. I feel like my current healthcare providers are my last real options now of any least invasive treatment before I succumb to trying meds or seeking surgery Living like this with three young children has been tough and I just want to feel healthy again. Anyone, please post your success stories if you ever are able to get through this and back to health again!

Hello. I so appreciate this email and all of the detail around it. I wanted to check in and see how you are feeling now. I am not sure how to do the vertex method and I am having a hard time figuring out how to access my upper throat.
Unfortunately my tonsils are a part of the picture and I want to find a way to work the the biofilms within the crypts of my tonsils. I can see that they are inflamed and infected and that just what I can see..as the tonsils are like crypts.

Thanks so much for your feedback and sharing your experience. It has really inspired me to do more and be more creative around this.
Thanks!!

Try cleansing and detoxing yr body. Many sinus problems are of fungal origin therefore go on a candida detox especially eliminating sugar, alcohol and wheat
